anyone out there with EVO8's & this setup or is it impossible????????????????

seems most people break 11's with cams, but how many have done it without them?

 

i think a evo 9 went 11.9 without cams,

but i think for the evo8 u need cams and or water/alky injection to run 11's with the stock turbo.

 

i knew if i get a tune i and race gas i can breck 11

 

I think you'll need more than cams and alky to beat war...

all the mods in the world cant help u if u cant drive.

 

1) he's not gonna race me-it's not worth his time
2) i will not use alky to break 11's. cams most likely. Tomei has some new ones coming out with higher lift (12.2) either summer or fall '06.

 

then why don't you go to him. In all the westerns I've seen the king gunslinger doesn't go chasing the wannabes. they come to him.

 

with cams and race gas u should be able to do it, everything will be in the driving tho

im only .3 away from 11. and if i can get my 60 foot down i think i can do it on setup right now. but if i get a tune and race gas i think i can do high 11 all day.

 

Hey man, just out of curiosity i was reading your project 11.49 thread and you were saying how hard it was to hit 11's on the stock turbo at that specific track in AZ due to heat and altitude, why would you wanna make it harder for yourself to hit 11's without the aid of larger cams?

 

Don't forget that HouseDJ runs race gas daily, so the alky bit is not relevant. Nor is it impressive when he says he'll do it without alky, because race gas gives the same bonus. I came within .0001s of hitting 11s without cams, intake, ic piping, or anything crazy - just some race gas and boost. With the mods I have now, I would have a good chance on 93oct with the alky and no cams, but I'm no longer near sea level.

On a full weight evo with a 9.8 hs I would say NO
On a full weight evo with a 10.5 hs maybe , but not very likely
On a full weight evo with a IX tubro yes , but its hard for me to beilve .....(yes iam green with envy)

 

i'm going to install cams to run 11's, but i was curious to see how close people have gotten to the 11 without them. i think Warrtalon is the closest 1 with his 12 flat...
