My 12.6 run. 1st time!! missed 3rd twice!

Just thought I would post this. first time at the strip. (Indianapolis raceway park) 50 ish outside.

I have all my mods, listed EXCEPT the Methanol injection, which is disconnected and in Florida for "repair". I ran with 1/2 tank of gas (93 octane) no other additives. Launch was "squirrley" I missed 3rd gear, hit the "rim" 2 times, and finally engaged it the 3rd time. I guess that is why my MPH is low. I hope to be in the high 11's with Methanol.

I was at an autoX Sunday, they say you inflate 5psi in the tires over the recommended. so my tires were TOO inflated I guess. Here is the break-down. remember, this is the FIRST time I dragged this car, and my 2nd time ever on the strip.

R/T .125
60' 1.737
330 5.200
1/8th 8.089
MPH 84.99
1000 10.546
1/4 12.60
MPH 108.94

In your opinion, is the 108 MPH because of the mis-shift? or is that flat out obvious.

You missed a line in the break-down of your slip. You put your mph in the 1/4 et slot.

Kevin,

Is that your first time ever with any car? If so, I think you are a natural. A .125 R/T and a 1.737 are both very respectable I am sure third probably cost you at least a few MPH maybe even more.

Get that thing in gear!!!!

Nice times Kevin. Here is a slip of a similar run I had a few months back, but I got it in gear.

60ft. 1.730
330ft. 5.1321
594ft. 7.4519
1/8ET 7.9691
1/8mph 86.99

You were ahead of me at the 330ft. mark so I'd say you would've definatley in the 7's on that run.

It's flat out obvious that if you miss a shift your time and trap speed will suffer. I'm not sure on how badly you missed third, but I think your car should easily trap over 110mph and hit low 12s.

Good times and I think you have much more in the car for sure. Hope to see you out there again.

Anyone know who the red 35R RS was out there? I didn't see him run but I heard he was a moderator on evom

Thats why I showed up at the dragstrip with the bags of skittles!!
I saw the red one, I said hello to him on my way out. Seemed like a nice guy. I knew it was an RS and not one de-winged, because when he pulled up, he actually ROLLED down the window. what were his times?

I think he was running high 12s and low 13s @ like 112. David said it was a 35R with standalone and all the goodies.

It looked like he had snow tires on the car, maybe that was a problem. He lives in Indy and nobody knows him?? He must be a quiet fellow.
