yet another "first timer" thread
saturday was the first time in a long time i haven't had to work, so i figured it was time to put a pass or two on the car. this was my first time at the dragstrip with the evo, so i set my expectations accordingly. i had three runs, with the last being the only semi-decent run. at least now i have some idea how to launch. i expect to do much better next weekend if i can make it out.
best run:
60' = 1.798
1/4 = 12.81
1/4 mph = 108.17
i'll have to get another look at the timeslip when i get home later (yeah i'm working again, haha) for the 1/8 mile measurements. i'm definately not thrilled with the results, but i figure its a decent start.
mods are the usual BR stage 3 (272's) stuff with a walbro 255 and custom DynoFlash. see sig for video, haha. boost is 21 falling to 19.
i don't drag race much but it was pretty fun. hopefully next time out i can get in the 12.0 - 12.2 range. i don't think that is out of question. thoughts?

well i guess there isn't much to comment on in here.
my 1/8 et = 8.211
1/8 mph = 86.19
after comparing my time with others, i am disappointed in the trap speed. i thought it could hit 110 relatively easy. i guess i'll just try again this weekend.

I just think it's slow shifting. Yeah, your mph is low, but you're about .3s off where you could be with that 60'. I had a rough time this past weekend with spinning all 4 off the line on a slick launchpad, but was running 12.4-12.6 on 1.75-1.89 60's with your same mph. I did my worst on the 1.89, which was a 12.68@108.5. The best was 12.47@109.1 with a 1.75, which still wasn't great, but you have room to improve with the shifting. I don't see 12.0-12.2 even being a remote possibility unless you find some MPH somewhere.

That's a decent 60ft time.

thanks guys.
An alky kit would bump you up nicely, but with 303whp on the BR MD, you should be trapping well over 110. Instead of going with an alky kit right away, try tossing in some race gas and crank up the boost to 24-25psi next time.

303whp on Dave's dyno and you are running 86.19 in the 1/8th...hmm. I'm running 85-85.5 and weigh 3450+ depending on gas.
I wonder what kind of power I am making stock? Gotta get on the dyno.
