first time this year
first time this year
I went to the track yesterday for the first time this year. I'm somewhat happy I guess. I ran on Dunlop Graspic DS2 snow tires and just couldn't hook up at all. I knew I should have put on the advans but oh well. I ran 9 times, the times were between 12.841 - 12.742. I did run a 13.4 @ 107.56 but I tried a low RPM launch to combat wheel spin, I just boged to a 2.22 60ft time. So here is my fastest run:
60' 1.855
330 5.306
1/8th 8.178
MPH 84.90
1000 10.677
1/4 12.742
MPH 109.15
I could have ran a few more times but my runs were consistant, I don't think I could have done better on the snow tires.
Mods are : MBC@22psi, AMS TBE, AMS LICP, Open element intake, HKS 264i/272ex, AMS dynotune=315whp/297wtq. Maybe I'll do better with the stock rims and tires, I dunno it was fun though.

You could have gone faster on the snow tires with a lower 60' if you had lowered the tire pressure. Did you know to do that? I ran on snow tires 2 weeks ago and had the same problem with tire spin, but I was down at 20-22psi just to get 1.75 60's, but it wasn't easy, so I feel your pain. However, if you actually had Advans at your disposal, then that was quite foolish. It doesn't take long to switch the wheels, so it's a waste to go spend the money to drag race while beating on your car for 9 runs only to waste them all with no traction.
Go back next time and rock out with the stockers. You'll probably hit 110mph traps and do 12.5 or better. Btw, just want to point out again that AMS's Dynojet reads normal. It does not read low if you put down 315whp and 109.xx mph traps. I put down 300whp on the local Dynojet and do 109.xx traps, too.

get some more practice the E.T's will get better and better. shift faster, launch harder
Thanks for the input fellas. I did consider putting on the Advans but last year I just bogged the launches on them. Of course last year I was about 70whp less than this year. Live and learn.
