A GT30R running 21psi is not a "ton" more powerful than the stocker at the same level. Not enough additional power to cause stress to the clutch when driven responsibly.
Just my opinion. If you don't go with a GT35R or bigger stay with your stock turbo unless you are damned with a 9.8 then buy a 20G. Mitsubishi turbos are damn good. Look at all of Greddy's turbo kits.

Something could be wrong, I agree. I am not going to go so far to say something is definitely wrong. Large turbos are for making more psi, obiously you of all people should know that. Doesn't take a rocket scientist for that. The car I built was for a hobby, not racing. The car was in excellent condition, low miles faster than it was stock. I was content. Let Chris work on his driving to alleviate that possibility before we conclude that something is indeed wrong. Chris also has the capability of running race gas and turning boost up to the upper 20's to take advantage of the upgraded turbo. I will never put a claim down to say how fast the car is, but I will agree with the consensus on being 11 sec capable. I never had the ***** to take it to the track. I am glad Chris is doing it, I will stand behind him and assist in anyway I can. That includes maintaining peace on this forum for ignorant statements.
Hey man, Ill help you out with anything from the tune to the mechanics of the car. Not that I am anything great but I can get an Evo to go 129 mph in the 1/4
Dont let these people get ya down. Let me know if you want any help with the mechanics or the tune. Id be happy to help ya out (Im sure you have plenty of others willing to help too).

well i didn't say anywhere that my driving is perfect. it is far from that. i was honestly expecting to run low 12's...which i believe would have been possible if i could have launched well. i've had much better launches when practicing on my own time. it was difficult for me with trying to hold the brake down to keep from rolling. nothing said on here will make me think less of the car or the way i drive it. i just wanted a consensus on whether or not i was expecting too much, or maybe not enough. either way, it seems that there is a problem that needs to be addressed somewhere. be it with the tune, or myself driving, or the clutch and launching, the problem will be found and fixed.
It's not the driving, the clutch, or the launching. Your trap speed is a direct indication of power, and your power is around 290whp, which is 20 more than stock IXs and about 10 less than all the stock turbo'd 03-05s with basic bolt-ons (tbe, mbc, flash).
People also need to remember that on pump gas, on a conservative tune the moderately bigger turbo wont actually give much more power at all. Most people that look at the Dyno graphs should realize this. They will usually make at most 50 hp more and usually very similair TQ. It just moves the powerband higher.
Ill help ya get it tuned up and get some better gas in it where your car will actually show the power and help figure out the problems with the clutch and what not. Then youll make a few passes and even if your driving sucks... it wont be worse than mine and I can still muster out 11.1s
Im gonna go ahead and guess with your driving next time out you will run an 11.4 @ 123-124.

Oh Mack, I would just sell that POS, and get a YUGO, or the 4 door version called the WEGO, it kind of looks like an EVO Might even fool a few people.
Seriously though, I wish I was there Last Friday. I went home am slept right through all the fun.
Have fun with your thread dude.

Mack, I have the Vishnu software, I have zero tuning experience, but we could get the maps off the computer and send them to Shiv and see what he thinks.
Take up Tim's offer on having a look at the car mechanically and maybe with help tuning it.
1st step have someone who know's what's what with aftermarket turbo kits look over the car and make sure nothing is mechanically wrong... Remember you already found one thing. Then once you are sure all the parts are put together correctly work with someone on the tune to make it all come together.
