Evo9grl goes 12.51@111.95 in Tucson

We are exceptionally happy with the performance of the car. We were able to squeeze a few 12.50's specifically 12.51 both times. We also ran 111.95mph.
Remember, we are at 3100ft elevation.

r/t .127
60' 1.819
330' 5.208
1/8 mile 8.040@85.47
1000' 10.464
1/4 mile 12.513@111.95

Mods are 3"TB,Buschur Cone,Unos MBC,Dynoflash Mail-in flash. Buschur LICP,Hypersun Ignition.
The car weighted 3224lbs(empty) with more than 3/4 of gas tank. I put 4 gallons of 110oct to a half gast tank of 91oct.

I want to say special thanks to Guerrilla with his Red Evo 9 MR because he also ran absolutely excellent 12.60@111 plus . He also had the same mods and race gas.
Finally I found someone that actually brings his car to the track and also run fast(Guerrilla)

Here are some facts:

- Stock turbo peaked at 31psi held boost to red line to around 22psi. BOV holds 28psi steady on 5th gear under full throtle on hwy.

- All passes were made in 4th gear

- Also the Evo 9 trapped higher trap speed than my Evo 8 MR which has same mods plus Cams, methanol, Works O2 housing

using the NHRA altitude table the car's time equals to 12.04@116.3 at sea level

Pay attention to the peak boost on the stock Evo 9 turbo !!!

Carlos and Socorro.

Carlos, best time of the night I ran a 12.55 at 111.76 too. I actually ran two 12.552, identical The 6 speed is killing me at the top of the track having to rev out way past my powerband since im riding 4th out... Max boost 1.8 bar. I had ray install a o2 housing on the ride today so watch out next time! It definately feels faster.

I am very glad both our cars are performing well! Good to see you again, adios.

Reading off the timeslip..

R/T .656 <-- i dont worry about RT
60" 1.747
330 5.169
1/8 8.034
MPH 84.07
1000 10.481
1/4 12.552
MPH 111.76

David,

Nice to hear from you, We took a few pics of your car that I will be downloading on evo9grl site today.

Let me reitarate that we are very happy for you not just for your very fast runs but also because finally we found someone (You) that trully shows up and run unlike 99% of other Evo owners I know.

I could only run once agaisnt you but when comparing your timeslips with mine I noticed that the MR has the advantage on the first 3 gears.

I think we set a reference on how fast you can go on this track with such mods. The closest Evo 9 with same mods ran a 13.3@107 (blue Evo 9 from Sierra Vista).

Take care and please stay in touch.

Tell Ray is is a cheater . He suppose to install my header but instead he worked on Steve black Evo and your o2 Housing. I was looking for Ray last night but couldn't find him.

Carlos and Socorro

Well said Ray..I know you will be the first one in the 11's in Tucson... I never doubt it Ray. Remenber when you gave me a ride on your car on those whiny roads in the desert? that was fasssssssst!!!
Yeah, I was looking for you. I asked a bunch of people but I guess that you were moving around and talking to people.

Steve from IAperformance ran his car as well. It is a mistery why his car ran much slower than a year ago..

David ran very well.. Ray I think I am doing a 02 Hosuing on the Evo 9 also, when can we do it?

Carlos

where is the track in tucson? I can't believe that your elev. is 3300 ft. I guess that if u have a 5spd its harder to get into 7s for 1/8th mark?

The track in on I -10 exit 275 (Houghton road). You can't miss it, you can see the tracks light poles from miles away from the I-10 HWY because the track is in the desert and around the track is like pitch black.

The 7 sec is very difficult here in Tucson, I have done 7.7s on the 1/8 mile but in Phoenix, never in Tucson. Running in Phoenix and running in Tucson are two different worlds.

Thanks so much David, that is a nice picture. The yellow car is a 1990 TSI AWD talon with a 20g turbo,FMIC etc, etc.

I will see you in 2 weeks at the track. I might do a 02 Hosuing also.
