Launching and Boost

Guys,

I'm going back to the Track tommorrow and I'm finally taking the advice I've been given by Warr and others and Un-Plugging the Factory 5000k Launch Limiter, so a few Q's:

1. Dose this not set a SES light??

2. With the factory limiter you can Build Boost against it, Un-Plugged if I just hold the
revs at 6k it will NOT build boost, does it matter??

3. Anyone going to Cecil Tommorow??

Thanks!!

i would bump it to 6 and keep it on.. that way you will build boost.. you might see a psi holding it..

what kind of 60' are you looking for.. i had a 1.70 on a stock clutch with the 2 step at 6k.. i think it works fine..

Well after I get Flashed I'll have it bumped, but for now, with it Plugged in I get
~1-2PSI, and a 'Little' chirp and it's GONE....but I guess we'll see how it goes tommorrow with it Un-Plugged!!

Yeah, you should drive and meet this guy and let him change you 2-Step or find another local EVO owner that has the cable had have him change it for you.
between 5700-6000 is a great place for the 2-step.

You unpluged the wrong one.

And you really just need to change it, not remove it.

I know Warr said he unplugged it, but that was when his car was stock (or semi-stock). But now that he has a flash he still uses the 2-step, he just reprogramed it higher.

Thanks Guy's, I found it....it's really funny, now I'll rev it to 6000 or 6200 and Tire Chirp and BOG...tried it about 10 times without slipping (not dumping) and it would catch for a Second...THEN BOG!! Oh well. I wa better off with it Plugged In!!

And I really don't feel like paying for a $400 Tune right now to Change it!!

Oh well....

^Yeah, or even easier and cheaper, just find a fellow EVO owner in your area that has the cable. I bet someone would do it for nothing or maybe a beer and a meal.

Here we go again...Read what I said:

"tried it about 10 times without slipping OR dumping" so it looks like i AM working the Clutch Correctly, I'm also holding a Steady 6100rpm...Tire Pressure is a little low though at 26PSI for Traction though, NOT allowing enough Wheelspin...

I'll bump them up to 38 or so and try again!!

Like you said above...you launched it without slipping it (but not dumping it). That's what your problem is. Even with higher revs, you can't just let the clutch out and expect the tires to grab and take off. You need to ride the clutch. If you know how you will not burn your clutch. Practice makes perfect but then again, it will also wear down your clutch down the line...
