1/4 Mile Times....
Yes, thats what I meant, I AM probably off about the launch rpms, but the car wont move if I hold the brake hard and the gas too, it revs up pretty high, I have to find the slips for the 60 ft times, I dont really remember, I dont want to lie and everyone get mad at me.
I'd say try buying a new car to get a better time. lol Other then that it wouldn't be worth putting all the money into to make it just as fas as a manual. Just trade it in and buy a faster car.
I would have to agree. If you want a faster car buy a different one. I'm not ragging on you. I had a 3000GT base model. IE lead sled. I was putting too much money into it to overcome the fact that it was slower then i wanted. It was actually cheaper to buy a new car. I understand that if that's what you got, that's what you got. But don't strip yourself trying to prove you can do it. If you want better 1/4's at least trade for a manual. If you do a lot of city driving disregard all the crap I just told you and keep the auto.
haha its not about making fun of... its simply i just dont c why people would brag about 16s... given that its a lancer ok.... but bragging about 16 sec timeslips... in the raceworld that is... amusing... thats all im saying...
Well given the weight of our cars Low 16 sec timeslips are quite good. For the most part I think we are all trying to be the first one's to find that magic set of mods that will give us the fastest time NA or Turbo.
I for one would definitely like to see those time slips on the low 16 runs as I have yet to break 16.8 NA

Don't get frustrated! If you are bent on making your car fast it's going to cost you. I'd say one of the first things I'd do is put money towards the transmission. An upgraded torque converter, shift kit or modified valve body and tranny cooler should do it. Synthetic tranny fluid would also help. If you choose to stay N/A, go with a wet nitrous kit setup. Run 50-60hp shots with an aftermarket intake, exhaust and pulley (perhaps even underdriven).
Otherwise, go turbo (expensive).

Oh, and that's including the purchase of the car.

Alias, I think you're missing the point. He's not making fun of the OZ or the regular Lancer. He's simply pointing out that if your TIME is 16 seconds, then you should not feel it a big accomplishment. Face it, drag racing and running those times is silly, go autocross. Again, neither me, nor Alias are attacking the US Lancer, just the concept of running a car down the strip and achieving 16-18s slips....it's like a kid running the mile in 12 minutes and being proud of it.
That's all.
That's all.

Heck, I've seen a older guy pilot a light blue Yugo (named the underdog) to low 15's in the 1/4 mile and the crowd at Atco Raceway (Englishtown as well) would go nuts. It's not fast in the realm of dragracing but it's certainly an accomplishment as far as Yugos go.
You'll get the same guys slamming the turbo'd EVO guys that are running single digit 1/4 mile times in their street driving domestics. They'll say the same thing but it's pointless.
Just let these guys be and enjoy themselves comparing their N/A Lancer times and who can be the fastest and why.

A few of those statements are mighty arrogant. Those are the kind of statements why H&A guys took to heart in the early 90's to start toasting greater cars, especially pony cars. Then, what about those Rx-3 and old school toyo starlets blasting the in the 8's? I guess they don't count, because they are downright ugly, right. What about those V8 gremlins? Arrogance.

Branko’s Turboworx prepped MR Lancer made its debut at the track and surprised a few people. The car was running 22x8 inch slicks with a RWD offset causing the tyres to protrude from the guards a bit. The guys were confident that they could break the current Victorian FWD record (12.20) on their first pass and didn’t disappoint with a 12.06 at 117mph followed by an 11.91 at 115mph (1.82 60ft). The Lancer still retains the 1.8L SOHC 4G93 engine in an otherwise very stock looking engine bay. Other quick FWD's included Rick’s turbo Starlet running a best of 13.90 at 99mph and the 'CZYPSI' Nissan Exa at 14.77 at 98mph.

yeah it is Boe's Boeturbolancer his best time is 13.8 but that was before his intercooler and some other work. He dragged it this weekend but had some troubles so no faster times yet.

I meant Mistu Lancers.
