New Best Times (BR Stage 2)

It was a great day to run at Mason Dixon Dragway today (Hagerstown, MD). DAs were running about -700 to -400

Mods:
BR Stage 2, FG LICP, APS BOV, Ingalls TD,
Shifter & Bushings, RRE Clutch w/ 10.6 lb flywheel
Boost spiking to 22 settling to 20 on 100 octane and street tune.

Run 1. Wheel-hopped like hell almost all the way through 2nd gear.
60' - 1.98
1/8 - 8.24@87.0
1/4 - 12.68@113.4 (new best mph)

Run 2. A little wheel-hop but not too bad.
60' - 1.72
1/8 - 7.83@86.5 (new best et)
1/4 - 12.24@112.3 (new best et)
Video from inside car:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqGSJCaNQFY

Run 3. A little wheel-hop again.
60' - 1.72
1/8 - 7.84@86.0
1/4 - 12.29@111.4
Video from inside car:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzW7sSrtwQg

Run 4. You guessed it, wheel-hop.
60' - 1.76
1/8 - 7.88@86.2
1/4 - 12.32@112.7
Video from inside car (speedometer):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXgtztQSmd8

From the GTimer I got a new best 0-60 mph at 3.50s and 0-100 mph at 9.58s. That thing rocks I know the car still has more in it. I just need more practice..

Crappy scan, GTimer results written on the back too (right lane):

Nice, I really like the in car camera stuff. Did you adjust tire pressures in between runs to try and lessen your hop and traction issues? Great runs once again and running in a mine shaft helps as well.

Yeah, I was asking for that wheel-hop issue. I was giving all my 2wd friends hell like "I don't know what you mean about traction problems. I just slip the clutch and go."

The first run I had my street pressure in the tires (32 psi). I dropped it down to about 27 psi for the last three runs. By the way, these are all-season Pirelli PZero Neros.

It's usually within a 0.10-0.15. I ran it on 3 runs yesterday. On the 12.68 it was way off. I think the wheel-hop messed with it a lot. It said 12.97@107.x. On the 12.24 it said 12.25@112.x and on the 12.29 it said 12.17@111.x. It does a great job overall.

Thanks! Im a good example of how much small boost leaks can hurt you. I felt like I drove the car about as well in July as in October/November. Same 60 foots and shifting. I fixed 6 boost leaks between then, added a torque dampener, and run 22psi instead of 20 at the track. Those are the only differences, besides air temperature (45-65 vs. 80-85). My times went from consistent 13.0-13.1 @ 104-105 to 12.2-12.3 @ 111-113.

Agree....I have 269 cams and am wondering if I could run those times myself with my given power. Hope to get my car back before the tracks close this year (bodyshop from being rearended) I am thinking about adding the intake kit, UICP, & hard maf pipe Buschur sells though !

Thanks for the feedback everybody. These cars run amazingly well, hard to believe how well they respond to just simple bolt-ons. I'm debating cams & fuel mods next. I'd like to run 11's next year

Mason Dixon is where I set a lot of my personal records. It's where I ran 13.1 stock and 12.22 with a catback/mbc/safc on a mix of 104/93oct. Very similar to what you did - MD is a good track for DA conditions. I also would have wheel hop problems occasionally when I went there - it wasn't every time, though.

I had trouble for just a split second before but never like I did on the first run. I wanted the right lane there, since it usually seems to be better for some reason but within 10 runs before me, a guy put a Corvette in the wall and a newer Camaro spun around about 4 times around the 330' mark in the right lane. Even with AWD, I was a little hesitant to try it out . Later in the day, though, it did prove to be the better lane again.

Here are 3 out of 4 of the runs from the outside. You can hear how bad the wheel-hop was from my exhaust in the 12.68 run .

Nice runs and 60 ft times. I am a full .10 seconds slower in the 60 ft and .06 slower in the 8th mile but just a litle quicker (89 mph). I wish the stupid 1/4 mile track wasnt so far.
