Thumbs up New best time with same setup from last year....

well, today i went to fayetteville dragstrip and it was a perfect day out. nice tailwind for once too! anyway, i went over to bigric09's house to borrow his leak tester because i could here a nasty leak and my wife threw mine out when i was on deployment because she thought it was just a piece of pvc pipe anyway, fixed a nasty leak on the licp where it connected to the intercooler. had the LM-1 hooked up and kept playing with the ecuflash software and worked on my timing and fuel maps with 6 gal of straight 112oct. boost was set to 28psi. this is what i ran today:

60ft.- 1.70

1/8et- 7.50
1/8mph- 92.92

1/4et- 11.63
1/4mph- 119.14

i lost to a z06 vette that ran an 11.1@110(he hit the brakes at the end). he had a cam, exhaust, m/t's drag radials. hes big into grudge racing, hence the reason he hit the brakes at the end. never saw under his hood but it was fast i beat 3 vette's before that and he put a stop to it real quick i had alot of fun today though and alot people gave me compliments on how clean and stock it looked under the hood.

Which mods? And do you really HIT 28 psi when doing a drag pull? Plus.... what boost do you see at redline or say.. 7200 rpms ?

Thanks.

Damn I can't seem t hold boost for crap.. on a drag pull its down to 18 at 7500 from around 24 at 5500-6000ish (beginning of each gear) Did you notice you held better boost after installing that Forge BOV?

yes. the forge rs bov holds boost great. to be honest though, i can't stand the driveability of the forge rs bov. no matter where i adjust it at, the car seems to buck once in awhile in 4th/5th gear. i don't have it in backwards either before someone comes off with that ****. i just put up with it and tolerate it. its better where i have it set at now but it still does it slightly. the stock 9 bov or jdm mr bov is the best for driveability IMO.

Freshsrt, that's always going to happen on the Evo with a strong BOV. You avoid it by doing a full lift with your foot when letting off the gas and by not trying to accelerate at part throttle. It's just how it works and has very little to do with the Forge RS other than the fact it's a strong BOV. The only one that won't do it at all is the plastic stocker.

it is a STRONG bov and yes a full lift of my foot would prevent that from happening. i'm just not used to it and its annoying regardless. and like i said, the stock 9 bov or the jdm mr bov won't do it either. alot has to do with the fact that i have an upgraded lower motor mount too as i can feel it more than if i had the stocker in there.

Great times On the topic of bov's though, I have a crushed 1g and you can partial throttle all day with it and never get it to buck

Or you can go with a gus modded 1g bov. Virtually leak free with stock like driveability.

Great runs though freshsrt-4. Definitely should be proud of those times. Making some nice power too.

thanks for the congrats guys. also, not to dog the forge rs bov, but i've seen alot of people selling theirs in the f/s forum. they sell great products and are a great company went it comes to customer service but i just don't like the driveability on the forge rs bov on my car......period.

btw warrtalon, more i think about it, your not the one driving my car so keep your advice to yourself. if you want to buy my car and drive it the way you described then pm me and we'll work out a deal.

Not sure why you'd suddenly respond like that. I was just trying to help you out by letting you know the same thing happens with any strong BOV. I can swap out my JDM MR DV and do the same thing all day long. NO need to get hostile for absolutely no reason.
