12.8 my first time ever at the track
Friday night was my first time ever at a track so I was kind of nervous.
First pass I ran a 12.8 @ 110 with a 60 foot time of 2.06 which I know is crappy, but I'm happy with my ET.
I think my 60 foot times are crappy because I wasn't ready. I mean if the other guy is staged and then you stage, you have to be ready in 2-3 seconds and then the lights start.
Only ran twice that night because of a civic leaking oil all over the track, but my second pass was worse because I was still experimenting with the clutch.
Ran a 13.0 @ 111 but my 60 foot time was really bad...2.3
Looking forward at getting my launches down and hopefully getting into the mid 12's. My next time out I definitely won't be as nervous and should be able to focus on launching or at least I hope.
What do you guys think?

Thanks for the comment!

Good times for your first time.
If your not bracket racing dont pay an attention to when the other car goes. Yes your reaction time is suffer but who cares. Your time doesn't start until you move. So just leave the line when your good and ready

Yup, I was still on my stock clutch and on all-season tires, but that was my third time at the track on the EVO. On my very first pass on the EVO, (first time ever launching an AWD vehicle) my 60' was 2.3, so you did very very well for a rookie. BTW, I don't use the launch control, in some thread Warrtalon suggested to not launch the EVO below 4500RPM because it would bog, so on the line I tried to keep my revs between 4500-5000RPM and when the light dropped I kinda slipped it without burning it and without dumping it, and the thing just took off. Don't worry you will get it and with your trapped speed you can be certain that you have a healthy IX!!!
