The last few times people have posted seem realistic.

But trapping 107-108mph stock is complete bull****.

You have to be forgetting to tell us about taking all the seats out, pulling off the exhaust, running race gas, accidentally hooking up a mbc to squeeze out 22psi.

If u did in fact trap that high, there is something done to the car your not telling us about.

gotta agree w/ you there... I mean there are some freak cars w/ good drivers breaking 12's in stock form... but it isnt the majority of EVO owners and i dont consider it the "norm" at all. There are freak motors in all types of cars. I've seen normally aspirated 'stock' cars vary 5mph in trap depending on how strong they were... not all created equal... But THAT said... i personally believe the "norm / avg" would be 13.1-13.5 w/ a trap around 103-105mph on BONE STOCK IX. most stock 8s i've seen run a bit higher ET (but then again, ive seen alot of strong stock 8s run 13.1s as well...

Bringing this thread from the dead. So, beyond "I saw my friend run a 12 in a stock IX" where's the proof. The reality I am finding is a 1.7 60ft yielding a 13 flat on the IX. Someone on the bimmer forums called BS on a IX ever running 12s stock, and I thought for sure I could prove him wrong. But it looks like I cant. No one has any proof, out of the millions of posts to dragtimes.com not one single stock IX ran a 12, and no one here, that I have found, can show any real evidence that it has been done. So get pissed off, and give me some data!

You have any proof of this? Maybe a timeslip, or a video, or something? Think of if someone said "Sure ya did buddy" what would you provide as evidence.

From what I have seen from most of the online car community (this site and others and including some vendors) no one shows proof. They say what they want and then one of two things happens:

- you never hear from them again

- they beat around the bush until the thread dies from lack of interest and they get off the hook for their outrageous claims

Gotta love the internet

there is a lot a crap on the forums for sure. ie... a stock evo trapping 107, proof is impossible, a time slip doesn't prove it is stock nor does a video. My experience is a stock evo is good for 13.5 with a good driver, however I have seen so so so so many run high 14's and 15's every time at the track. Driving skill needed I'm sure.

You're right saywhen - even a timeslip tells us nothing. All I know for sure is that I ran a 13.17 @ 103.89 in my 05 MR when it was stock on a 65* sunny day on a so-so track, and my 1.92 60' was caused by having no clue what that crazy bouncing noise was when I tried to launch (5k limiter). It was early 05, and only the 05s had this phenomenon, plus no one knew you could modify it in the ECU. I later learned how to disconnect it, but by then I had a mod (S-AFC). I never got to launch freely in stock form unfortunately, but I haven't hit any 60's that weren't at least 1.7x since then, so you can imagine how much better my time would have been without that 1.92. That being said, at the same time, another 05 GG MR (identical) ran a 14.1 @ 99, so a lot of it comes down to driver.

When the IXs started coming out, there was a couple people that had fast times and timeslips to go with them. search around in this forum and you'll find it.

I believe the best time I seen that seemed legitimate was 12.7 @ 106.

You are usually right when it comes to many car forums but it seems that most of the times in the EVOm.net drag racing forum are real and legit.

This is a very interesting thread because I have seen people do absolute crap with cars that should be much faster and great times out of POS. My only concern is how much life we take out of the clutch every time we drop the needle @5,000. I just bought an 06 IX and don't need to replace a clutch just yet. If anyone needs me, I will be the one running the 14.1s out there with a 2.2 60'... lol. But atleast my clutch will last more than a couple launches!

Good point. I went 5k miles before I did any racing on the Evo (Winter), and then from that first 13.17 in stock form to running 12.22 and winning a bracket race with a cat-back/safc/mbc, I only went 2500 more miles and fried it (stock clutch).
