A Dodge Magnum beats the Dynoflash/ICS Performance STi at E-town? WTF?

I was at E-town Weds. night with my buddy who was running his '07 Dodge Magnum. It's the family truckster. Bone stock motor with just a tune and drag radials. Nothing else. It tipped the scales at 4400lbs.

Video: http://www.titsup-racing.com/video/m...ggie_12.42.wmv

When I went through the videos that I took that same night, I came across a video of the Dynoflash and/or ICS Performance STi. I only knew this because during the run the announcer said "there's Al Friedman burning up the 1320 with his Subaru."

I'm just wondering how on god's green earth my friend's 4400lb wagon with just a tune can beat a shop car STi with an upgraded turbo on the same night at the same track? That is astounding. Was the STi running on only 3 cylinders or something?

STI's aren't great when it comes to drag racing. Did you ask what parts are on his car? I don't see any names on the side and if it is a shop car I would think they would at least put their own name on it. Interesting....

That was the ICS Performance STi bro. It was just confirmed bro. Still unbelievable that a family station wagon loaded to the gills on pump gas with just a tune can beat a full bolt-on/meth injected STi bro. Bro, come on bro!

Wow don't you feel dumb, assumptions FTL. Really there is no need to bash STIs, they do a good job of doing that themselves, oooh, yeah I said it.

well I bet that magnum is putting down well over 400 to the wheels.. (the srt-8's come with well over 400hp&ft/lb's stock..) Without the slicks i would expect it to be back in the high 12's low 13's...

I agree thats doesn't look like any plain old Magnum Hemi, that looks like the SRT-8 425hp version as it has massive 20 inch wheels up front and also massive Brembo brakes.
