lowering and traction?

I have heard about people saying that if you lower a subaru or evo you will lose traction on your launches, because of the spring rates and the travel room. But i was wondering if its true, and if it is does it only partake with people using cheap suspension upgrades. Or is it true no matter what for the most part. If someone could shed some light on the issue id really appreciate it.

i think if you lower it with cheap springs.
but if it is done right with coil overs then im sure this will help the car launch harder.
