From what I can gather, the Evo II is faster than the VIII. They were rated at 260/224, but they are lighter and have an insanely short 5.443 final drive.

I punched the numbers I could find into my CarTest2000 program, and the Evo II is coming out around 3mph faster and about 1/2 second quicker than the Evo VIII.

Dunno if this is in fact true, but that's what I've got.

Ok, i'll post the pic asap. My digi cam is with my bro. We went to a track last week and he's still downloading some pics.

Fyi.. I'm making the deposit right now for the evo.

The negotiated price is USD 7,960. And it comes with rally tires and an aftermarket exhaust. Seems the orig owner made a few mods.

Cool dealer, he has a 'point to me what you want fixed' attiutude. So all the little dings are gone. Might look for an evo 3 sideskirt and wing.

The finalist where a R32 GTS-4 and Integra 'fake' type R.

Both where cheaper, but the extra cash is worth the evo.

Oh yeah, Im from the Phil... helps being a neighbor of Japan.

The only catch to the evo is that lancers are very common here. Damn, even taxis have evo aero kits on them

The EVO II have lower compression ratio and stronger piston as compared to the III. As a reliable "go fast" car, I would recommend the II rather than the III.

I guess you can go with the standard intake, exhaust and performance computer (Mine's maybe?) to get this baby to start with.

NAPE,

Send me an e-mail and I can send it to you. I actually had to buy it because it's not shareware (there is an older DOS shareware version, but the 2000 version is much better).

I just bought an EVO I. It is absolutely the funnest car have ever driven. I am a part time car dealer and have driven just about everything out there. I drove an EVO 8 and all I have to say is the EVO 1 is ten times the fun. It is 500lbs lighter. There was EVOII at the shootout this year with a boost contoller and 2.5 downpipe. It ran 12s at 106mph. The guy never drove a right hand drive car before.

Price: $7960 here in the Phil.

You know, I have a feeling the car ain't stock. There's a kakimoto(?) exhaust and a blitz boost controller installed. Comes with rally tires .... hmmm

Will send pics for you to check if those are stock equipment.

Still in the shop getting the dings out, interior cleaned, and also getting the mags painted - some sort of goldish-yellow. Car is blue.

Seems this car is dangerous in the hands of a newbie like me.
