Drag Tire!!!

I ran 10.7@135 on winter tires. only pulling 1.72 though.
+1000, I have seen and had this happen to me on more than just 1 car. Nittos suck 
again, nitto's suck 
I would recommend some all season tires. they launch fairly well and don't wear that quickly
1k miles? Damn!! I had more miles on my drag radials on my lightning last summer as well as my new vette. And all I do is drive with the rear tires spinning

You'll get 10k miles out of the BFG's all day long on the street/strip.
I pull consistant mid 1.5's on mine all day long and again have pulled a personal best of 1.52 on a car that weighs 3330 with me in it.
The Nitto's have to hard of a sidewall still IMO and you will get wheel hop.

Go with the BFGs, thats what I was running before I went to the MT Slicks. They will do low 1.6 and consistent 1.5 60s all day and hold up also.
The Nittos SUCK! Ask Trent at Buschur and he'll go with the BFGs also. Ask VWJeff about his nittos and the track rental! lol Rear diff go boom!
As for the other tires you are talking about, they are all hard sidewall road racing slicks, not drag. They will lead to you buying T-cases and rear diffs from wheel hop! Your better with a set of snow tires than the re01r, Star Specs, or the NT-01.

i love the BFs, but on my las SRT i get lile 1K miles... LOL... but the SRT spin tires alot... on my srt they are usables like 1month!! i know is different with evo... then i can get like 10K miles with that on street Daily Driving???

we need a 245-40-17 dam-it. 
also another thing to mention about road race tires other then the stiff sidewall is that they are of harder compound and need heat.not the typical evo dry hop but more like a lap or so.i pulled 1.7s with kuhmo all seasons.BFG definately way to go nittos are diff tcase eaters.

If you're going to get the bfg's theres a way to break them in so they act like a slick and absorb the shock from launching. When you get them only run about 6 psi in all four and drive real slow for a few miles. This stretches out the side walls so they wrinkle when you launch. Some people disagree with me on this, but I've had good results doing this and it doesnt hurt anything so take it for what its worth to you.
i used my buddies 555r's and i pull a 1.656 with only 16 psi in them i went from 25psi all the way down to 16psi hot lapin my car lol i had better luck with my street tires witch are Kumho Ecsta XS running 25 psi i cut a 1.655 lol
255/35/18 T1R's Pulled consistant 1.62's and 1.63's. I really get this feeling some people need to learn to drive. Pulling anything slower then a 1.60 on sticky tires is completely unacceptable in my book.
Back to basic people. Learn to drive better.
Just to note, I did get a 1.68 that day, was checking how hard I could hit the clutch on launch, little much and got some chatter from the tires. Very little, went back to a touch more time on full release.
Lets get real, some people will never be able to drive. They just do not connect correctly with the car to run consistently good shirt times.

I've pulled a 1.62 on my OEM Yokohamas and a 1.52 on my bfg drag radials.
