Thumbs up Dragstrip Racing in the Rain

I missed the East Coast Subaru Shootout due to rain. Little did I know they were still dragracing, In The Rain. This took place at Beaver Springs Raceway in PA on 9-13-03. Just giving you AWD Lancer Evo guys a heads up just in case you decide to stage an event at this track. Woohoo!

More Rain Dragracing Pics

I'll post a link to a video or two when they are provided. Fun, fun, fun!

Thats my local track, I didn't go because it was raining...Ha, thats hillarious they let you run in the rain. Probably because they rented the track, normally all racing is canceled for rain...probably because most cars are RWD. But even in AWD, thats really f'ing stupid...

Whoa! Lets be a little more positive. Think about how much fun the AWD EVO's would have. Besides, at least you won't have to worry about the track being cleaned up due to a little 'fluid' on the track. No-one crashed or got hurt.

Of special note: The red ESX Subaru with the white lettering is what Alfriedesq was supposed to race. That was one of the main reasons why I was going. I wanted to see Al crush the ESX Subaru. Too bad it'll have to wait another day.

ESX ran a 16 second 1/4 mile time. This was on slicks in the rain. This was while the clocks where still working. They went out not to long afterwards and it was all heads up racing.

I agree its stupid. This is because I have dragraced in a "mist" before and thought it very interesting to have the car leave the line sideways and not hook up till way past the 60ft mark.
