Suspension/chassis setup from a track car to a drag car.

I track prepped Viii thats getting tuned on E85 next week and I want to take it out and drag race it just for ***** and giggles. Right now the car is on Ohlins vishnu/gerrard specs, corner balanced, rear sway full stiff, -3.2fr camber, -1.2 rr camber.

So Im wondering what would be the easiest misc stuff for me to do. Alignment, sway bars, strut tower bars etc. What can I do to improve my times? I only plan on making one trip out so I want to make the best of it.

Go full soft all the way around. It doesnt seem right, but I was told to do this and it works...

So full soft, no camber... What about sway bars and ride height? Unhook the sways and pickthe front up some?

Bump? Come on guys, what do I do with ride height and sway bars? What about strut bars? Leave them both front and rear?

Ride height doesnt really affect it much. You can leave it alone. I ride slightly lower in front, but nothing specific. I run without sway bars as they do nothing but add weight if your going straight. I have removed both front and rear. And no strut bars either.

All about weight transfer; static camber is far too negative if you're concerned about the launch at the drag strip. At your static camber of ~1.2 degrees camber, upon launching, (weight transfer aka rear squat) would probably net you closer to a ~2.0 degrees if not more out back resulting in a much lesser contact.

The idea is you want to start off with as little camber as possible so when you do squat you still retain optimum grip. I would suggest starting at 0degrees camber out back if not 0.5degree POSITIVE camber. Try it out coupled with proper tyre pressure and see what your 60' does.

ps. agreed any chassis stiffening braces would diffuse your overall goal.

HTH.

+1 I have my alignments specs somewhere. I believe I run -1 camber in the front. It is obvious when looking at it at the line

Rear camber can't go less the -1deg.. It's the price I pay to run 285's under the stock body but I'll be sure to knock some camber out the front.
