E-85 Vs. E-98

My local speedway has E-98 and I was thinking of using it my next time out. I know E-85 is 105 Octane but anyone know what E-98 is??? Is it better to stay with the E-85 or should I try the E-98? Looking to shave of .184 of a second to set the Fastest Stock Turbo ever in Colorado.

E98 is just 98% ethanol, octane rating is still 105.

What would be the benifit of having 98% ethanol vs. 85% ethanol?

Dmanbikeracer, what is your hp/tq? Do you have a dyno graph that you can post? Thanks man

No, the OP was asking about the octane level. Its the same. I'm asking since the octane level is the same is there a benifit to running E98 vs E85

Why don't you try it and retune and test it out? After trying to decipher some posts on here, I think what racers are doing is mixing their own, but I think they may be lowering the ethanol content slightly to keep the knock resistance, but making more power this way. I am not certain though.

I don't think it would prove any better than e85 as you can take you car to MBT on e85. AKA the point at which advancing timing will no longer provide any benefits.

No, pure ethanol has an octane rating of 116, not sure if thats RON or MON or R+M/2. I would guesstimate that E98 would be around 110-112.
