Well this Sunday I raced my friends E55 amg making 525 at the back wheel. I slept at the tree but through 4 gears we were pretty much dead even. He only jumped when I had to shift into fifth to get to the 1/4 mile mark. He runs 11.7 on the quarter on the dot run after run after run. I spun on the launch pretty bad too but oh well...decided to share anyway. Let me know what you guys and gals think about the run.

BTW he ran 11.72 at 121.7 and my run ended up being 11.86 at 117.1
I need cams, valve springs, head studs and maybe thicker tires and well be back in business!

Well I never had the car on the dyno jet... but my guess would be 440-455

 

Nice! Those E55's are nice...

 

They really are! His 3rd gear tops out at 135 mph! Thats why the 5th gear shift messes everything up for us.

Question for everyone!

If I get 245-255/45-50/18 instead of stock 245/40/18 how many mph should I gain from just topping out 4th (7500 rpms)

Buy a spring and retainer for your head, and raise your revlimiter so you won´t have to hit fifth gear

 

Once the head comes off...I'll do cams, springs, retainers, arp head studs and a retune. My biggest thing with working on cars is: "once a stock part comes of, it has to be repaliced with a better/stronger part" So far it has been awesome!!!!
