Trapping 103 MPH in an VIII??? Re-tune?

Hey guys I purchased a used VIII RS about 3 weeks ago and finally found out everything about the car.

Mods:
-Exedy Twin
-HKS Intake
-Greddy TBE
-MBC
-Cracked Megan Manifold (Replacing With Stock Exhaust Manifold)
-Vishnu XEDE piggyback.

Now I bought the car from a dealership and had to do my research to see exactly what was what.

-Car is currently on 22 lbs.

-Took the car to PBIR on Friday and these are the numbers I had only ran one pass, but still learned a lot

14.2 1/4 Time
2.3 60 FT.
103 Trap Speed

-I don't even have launch control, shouldn't the car be trapping 110MPH or so?
-I've decided I'm going to remove the XEDE and re-tune on the stock ECU. Start from scratch basically.

Any suggestions?

103 sounds about normal to me for a stock 8. 110 would be with a decent tune and shifting, sounds like for your mods the time is about right given the 60' time.

Well even with a better 60ft like 1.8, the car would probably only be at a high 13.8 ish. Isn't that what a stock Evo runs? Anyway the car was ran on 34psi tire pressure, because I just wanted a soft feeler run. I'm going to AWD Motorsports within the next 2 weeks and getting dyno tuned then it's off to the track again. On to the next one.

It sounds about right to me. Mine ran 13.6 with a 1.9sixty at 101mph. I beleive for every tenth you cut off the 60 is two tenths at the end with good shifting, have you ever launched an AWD car before? It doesn't have a 2 step?

I am sure that AWDMS will get you squared away, and then just work on the driver mod, if your not already experienced....... I didn't catch if this was your first one or not. Good luck

Yea my first AWD and no matter the platform, I hate launching without a 2 step. I can't concentrate on the clutch work. This wasn't my first time at the track, but first time with the Evo. I guess I'm going to get some more seat time and when it's tuned I can know my shift points and add the 2 step. Thanks for posting! 4bngr

if you're hitting 103 mph. You should be able to hit around 13.2 area, especially with a RS @ full weight minus jack/spare.

Your on the right track by removing the Xede and switching to Ecuflash; it would be the first thing I'd do (I used to have an Xede too back in the day).

hold on so you have a cracked manifold and you expect to run a higher trap speed

You just need some seat time. My best when i was stock was a 12.5 @110 w/ only a test pipe.
Best of luck. Are you coming from FWD or RWD car?

get rid of the xede and slap in a stock ported manifold, get tuned, and gain back your 110+mph power.. The cracked manifold is killing you, those things are junk.
