Hoosier QTP Tire Pressure

What tire pressure would you recommend for Hoosier QTPs? (26x9.5x16). Stock axles/trans. Maybe 16-20? Doesn't need to be to aggressive. I know there are people on here that have experience with them.

Thanks

My Talon spun just a bit out of the hole at 18psi so I ran 12psi and it worked very well.

Let's bring this back.
What is good pressure to run these at? Do you run them the same all the way around? Or do you set the front different than the rear? What is the pressure for the front and what is it for the rear?

It all really depends on a few things, 1 air temp outside, 2 suspension setup, softer suspension will not require as low of pressures. and most of all 3, weight of the car. Lighter car's can run low pressure, while heavier cars need to run higher pressures.

I've found that 16 in the rear and 14-15 in the front works well for my car, fairly soft suspension and full weight. If I tried to go down to 14 in the rear, the rear of the car would wonder around through 2nd gear. Airing them upto 16 in the rear straitened the car out.

Oh and FYI, on my talon that went 8.60's @165mph weighed in at 2600lbs with me in it and I ran the hoosiers at 16psi all 4 and cut mid to low 1.3 60ft's.

Wow thats a lot to keep into thought.
I do have BC coilovers, So I can set it to soft. The only think I have done to my car to lite it up is take off the crash beams, spare tire and jack. I have no other lite weight parts. I was told to set my BC's all the way to soft for the weight to transfer to the back.

Yea theres a lot of factors into tire pressures on that certain track day. When I was running the QTPs i put them to 14 front and 12 in the rear. Cut mulitple 1.4s and best 1.42. I stayed at that pressure the whole time. I would maybe change if needed on that day.

I now have the M/T ET Drags and i run 14 Front and 12 Rear also and i cut a 1.40. I run the D2 coilovers and so far the car has done real well. Hitting the track next weekend, will see how it goes

What do you set your coilovers at? 32 way adjustable right? I am I right that you set them all to soft?

Ok I tried that 14psi in the rear and the car would side step out at launch also kinda floaty down track. Hurt my mph also. 16psi did straight it out. My best 60' I could get was 1.6.

bumping this back up. for those of you running the QTPs and full slicks, I imagine you get your wheel and tire combos balanced or do they not need balacing?

also, how much boost are you guys building off the line? at what rpm?

I balanced mine and would recommend to have it done. I launched at 6.5k with about 14psi to cut 1.5x 60's.
