Hard motor mounts - Transfer case protection?

I'm wondering what you hardcore drag racers do to protect your vehicle when launching? I'm an autocrosser, but I run Pro-Solo where we do 12+ drag launches per/event. I run on 11.5" wide Goodyear slicks.

I cracked my transfer-case in half last weekend. TRE is going to be building me a new one (there MAX-LOCK diff is freakin' amazing!). But I want to try to prevent it from happening again.

Would hard or solid engine mounts increase the life of the drivetrain? Where should I be launching it at for best results and longest life?

The car is currently 2800lbs, soon to be 2400lbs. 23.5x11.5x16 slicks on it, with around 400ft lbs-tq at the wheels.

Thanks,

-Mike

tightening up anything in the driveline to take up the slack will prevent breaking parts.. they dont have to be solid.. even a good set of urethane mounts will help.. any questions PM me.. Thanks!!

I'm making similar torque and have yet to get get so much as a squeak from the t-case (knock on wood) - I'm at more than 80k miles. Its not the rpm that you launch from, its how you launch it. Just make sure that you don't dump it. Find the point where the clutch is engaging, keep it a millimeter from that point, then do a quick slip of the clutch from there.

Its the initial shock to the drivetrain that kills it, so keep it from being so shocked and it should survive.
