i need some advise from the pros
that's impressive for your first manual.. you are just a natural quick shifter i guess. it took me so long just to even be consistent without missing gears. a couple years at least lol.
4.18 is really low damn. its not going to put uneven or stress on the clutch if i don't push in all the way? that's gonna take practice to get that down, because im so used to i guess you could say (flooring) the clutch pedal.

Alot of good advice in here already so I won't repeat. But something isn't adding up with your power, even with slow shifting.
Your quickest run
60' 1.822
330' 5.033
1/8 7.560
mph 96.08
1000 9.690
¼ 11.442
mph 129.29
One of my slowest runs of the day, I bogged hard (obviously) and I still trapped the same mph at 444 whp/355 tq, and was slower then you to the 1/8 mile and everything inbetween.
60' 2.138
330' 5.203
1/8 7.631
mph 100.20
1000 9.720
¼ 11.464
mph 129.11
When you decide to use NLTS, calculate your rpm drop. If your on the ultimate ratio, the average rpm drop in 1-4th gears at 8250 rpm is ~2325 rpm. You will have to tailor this to where you shift.
Either way keep at it man, tracks open back up in 11 weeks or so

Good info
And about Ryu, look at his screen name, He drives the way he fights!!!
No, it will not hurt anything by not pushing the clutch pedal to the floor between shifts. As long as the clutch is disengaged, allowing you to shift into the next gear without resistance, your good. It just takes time and practice. You'll get it down eventually. Just work your way up to it gradually and try not to think about damaging the transmission while you race. It'll only slow you down. These transmissions can take a decent beating.

Ya Ryu is a real good driver

this was the last run of the day because my oil level was
down to low where i didnt want it and didnt have any backup

11 weeks will go by quick! cant wait! if i need a cage i hope you help me ill give you a years supply of beer.

my transmission is a evo 8 transmission with a evo 9 first gear. that is the only difference. i believe the 9 gear goes to around 40mph in 1st gear at 8k rpm.
thanks for the info on nlts
Like you wouldn't believe, He has been helping me a lot with my car with great results. He will also be helping me set it up to leave much like his car. I wish you were down this way so we could all get together and dial your car in and get you shifting like mad man ryu-matic too. No doubt your car is crazy impressive, I'm sure you'll figure it out, like the others said already practice makes perfect.

thanks man.. my goal that day was 130 so i was happy i achieved it, but my ultimate goal is 140.. which i dont know if that is gonna happen, but ill try my best. (might need to remove some weight - which i didnt want to do) & (tubular manifold and diff intake mani possibly).
the other guys at the track i was talking to (muscle car guys & my dad), were telling me that i was improving each pass and i looked better each time i went down the track, so they think i have the ability to get better and better based on what they were watching.
the muscle car guys were really impressed how the car was moving the 2nd half the track. it was funny how much of a noob i was (and still am) to the time slip, they were breaking it down and showing me why they were impressed with the 2nd half.

Thanks guys for all the great advice and tips.. this is why i really enjoy this community. everyone is so nice and helpful!

when the time comes i will email you again tho.. id pay you well.
Well another oversite is that your trap speed is not limited by your 2.3 . Its limited by the fact that your final drive is to low for drag racing. you should maybe go to an HKS 4.11 final so you can hit higher trap speeds without bouncing on the limiter or having to slip it into 5th

On his current street tires with the rev limiter set at 8500 RPM he won't hit the limiter until over 136 MPH. He could hit his goal of 140 MPH at a little over 8700 RPM which is doable with his current set up. I'm not saying that you would want to run his 2.3 at 8700 RPM all the time but it should be fine for a few trips down the track.
i don't want to put a 4.11 in my car. is it true that enabling no lift to shift will gain 3-4mph by itself since i was dropping into vacuum before in between shift? nlts i shouldn't hit vacuum.
also i have rx7 wheels and hoosier 26" qtp's to avoid the higher rpm.. i just didn't feel like dealing with test fitting in 38f weather with wind that day so i just went with the street tires.
things that will be done for next time:
enable nlts
have the rx7 fd wheels on with hoosier
remove wing
that's about all id like to do.. i could put on shutters i guess on the front bumper and block the mirrors off for more aero, but i dont think it will be necessary i hope not.

You need to build consistency whatever you do. Its better to overslip the clutch then under slip it, and checking Facebook in between shifts isn't the best time
