BEST RIM AND TIRE COMBO for DRAG

I have a 2008 evo X making about 600whp and the wheels i have on are not good for drag racing there a 18x10.5 rim and a 275/53/18 size tire and i know for the track I'm going to need something more suitable for drag racing.

i was going to get a 17inch evo 8 rim but they don't fit evo x front breaks are much to big.So I'm forced to get a 18 inch rim but my question is what would but the best TIRE and best 18 inch(size) rim to buy

i was thinking of getting a rota 18x9 or 18x8.5 to keep the wheel skinny and Micky Thompson or Hoosier brand slick but what do you think is the best set up for DRAG? Track use only.

I don't have the best answer for you but iirc there is a few 17" wheels that fit a X.

M&H slicks seem to be doing well on the stock 17" evo 8 rims... however obviously you would need to find a set of 17" x 8" wheels to mount them on

you need to go through the forum and read threads. There is a TON of wheel and tire threads here....I would say run rpf1(cheapest), ce28($$$$), or tc105n(between 1700-2000) with m&h drag radials

you would recommend a drag radial over a slick and i was just looking at rpf1's seems like a great wheel choice

I dont recall off the top of my head but there is 17's that will fit on a evo x. You will have to search around. I know I have seen threads and pictures on the other evo forum where people did it.

I could of sworn I read somewhere on here that you can install EVO 8/9 Front brembos on an Evo X... if that is true, then you would be able to run a nice 16" rx7 slick setup with a 20mm spacer...

Could you point me to some people that have had good results with the 17" m&h slicks ?? I'm so close to buying them but can't find people to give me a 60ft time or some real data.
