Toyo R888

are these any good for the 1320? looking for something to mount on a 17x 9" wheel, looking for something to grip better than street tires but I do not want to shock the drive train too much like a full slick let me know.

toyo r888 is going to shock the drivetrain A LOT harder than a slick. they're pretty stiff. they work okay for auto cars but will wheel hop like a **** on a stick evo. what are you looking to do with the car. have an extra set of rims and tire to use for the track or dd on the new tires and go to the track occasionally? if you dd it i would say an r888 would be superior to a slick/drag radial/bias ply etc. but if they are an extra set of rims i'd look into the 17" m&h slicks.

R888 is a road racing tire. Usable for drag, but not ideal.

Thanks guys I'm only going to use it for the track on a set of spare rims, what about Hoosier 245/45/17" road racing dot tire is that any good? I'm seeing the Drag Radial Racing DOT is cheaper than the road version which one if any should I go with?

BTW I trapped 137mph this weekend with a terrible 12.2ET and a 2.50 60ft, hence the reason for me looking for a better tire.

Buschur Racing carries it

wow you need driver mod, not better tires. no tire is worse than 1.8 capable on an AWD car.

Depending on track conditions, I'd day start at 20psi and work your way down. There isn't a set pressure that works for everyone. Good luck and let us know your results.

Not all awd cars. Track prep could be real crappy.

ok guys tried the Hoosier's and I got the 60ft down to 1.774, the track was not a bit damp as well and the tyres was hard so I would say these tyres ROCK!!!!!!! I will start to play with the tyre pressure a bit to improve.
