Junk Box EVO @ IDRC 2013 - 8.96@162
This past weekend I made it out to Norwalk, Ohio for the 2013 IDRC Nationals. I have never been to this event, but know of a few people who has gone to it in the past. Myself and the Boostin Performance crew made it in to Norwalk Friday night and of course had to hit up Casa Fiesta lol. That place is so good, and that is about the 6th time I've eat there in a row
Late Friday night, I got a text from DSPORT magazine saying they would like my car to be featured in there magazine! I was so happy when I read that text. I have always wanted my car to be in DSPORT and it was happening. That has always been one of my goals. I was up early Saturday morning to do the photo shoot. The location is awesome and can't wait to till the feature. Thanks DSPORT for the Shoot and the opportunity! Keep an eye out for the issue in the near feature
Now onto some racing! We all got to the track early Sunday morning. Getting the car prepped and ready to make the first pass. I was in the AWD class with some very fast cars. I was up against Devin @ Boostin Performance with the Red Demon, Jason's EVO (MRBoost) David's Black EVO, Chris (StreetthisEVO) and Wheatley's car among many others. Needless to say there was some competition with a lot of fast cars. 3 Qualifying runs before eliminations:
First Pass- Right off the trailer, 9.01@159.
Second Pass- 8.96@162, New personal best for me. I was very happy to do it early in the day.
Third Pass- I let the car cool off for a little white since we have some time before our next qualifying run. Cut the best 60ft of the day by 7 hundredth's, slammed 2nd, slammed 3rd and popped a side freeze plug which ended my day. It happens in racing but I was very happy I went home with a new PB.
I have no doubt in my mind the car would have gone 8.8 on that pass. After cutting a better 60ft and rolling through the gears I was on pace for that. For some reason, a lot of people there were spinning and the 60fts were off. I cut a 1.50 on the third pass. Which is still not the greatest considering I cut mid to low 1.4s. Each track day is different but oh well and was happy I set a new PB.
This is just the beginning and I am really excited to start off the season with a new PB. The car is running amazing and I really see this car going 8.5 this season. I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but I'm just being confident and hoping for the best. Can't wait to bring the car back out. Boostin and I are getting it ready, and plan to be out next weekend
I want to thank Boostin Performance for all their hard work and effort into the Junk Box. The car would not be where it is today with out them and it's great having a great friendship and team. Boostin FTW!!
Congrats to everyone on Sunday who set new Personal bests also! Thanks Wheats for the tow back as well lol
Here are a few pics and my video of the 8.96 pass:

Thanks Everyone!
The interior still has the dash in it and a few other parts inside. Most of it had to come out for the 12 point cage and fire wall in the back for the fuel cell.
