Brian 5150 sponsored car

Well I have been meaning to post this vid of my buddy Shanes car. He is one of my best friends in the world and I can honestly say I am proud of him and this car. Many of you may know him as Sbstar on some of the other forums. But long story short being he always gets the story wrong.

Things I found for him

Car - 1990 Eagle talon Tsi awd
Motor- My spare block out of my garage he stole
Cams- Hks 264/272 with Fidenza cam gears
Trans and t case - Rebuilt by local shop out here which I got him a discount on.
Carbon fiber hood - off my old car that doesn't fit on the 1gb that I have now.
Symborski shifter kit- out of my parts car.
2g gst rims and tires - off my daily driver that he used up till this last set of passes.
dsmlink v2

Parts he added

Megan coil overs
M&h drag slicks
Rota slipstreams 15x114.5 or whatever they are that fit.
Driveshaft shop drive shaft
2g maf
2g exhaust mani
stock 14b turbo ported
ets fmic

and the rest of the car is pretty stock

Car weighs just under 2600 lbs with him in and a full tank of gas. I am sure I am missing a bunch of stuff but I am at work and this is just off the top of my head. Remember this car is straight e85 no nitrous no other aids. Car runs 25 psi, and only 18 degrees of timing up top. There is more coming for this car but he doesn't know it yet and I am gonna keep it a secret being I know he wants to run ***** out at the shootout this year. So with no further ado here is the video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feI7y...ature=youtu.be

He is the fastest awd talon non nitrous car to date. Obviously there are faster cars, being Curt is one of them and Bucci is another. But we aren't as smart as those guys are hahaha. I am really proud like I said to be a part of this project and I hope you guys enjoy it

I know some of you think yeah big deal. But when you think of it, it is a big deal. He is on a completely stock block, Arp head studs, oem head gasket, un ported head, exhaust mani, stock size tb etc.

Auto or gear snatcher cause its a differnet ball game when your actually shifting vs. jjust pushing a gas pedal. Still those are some good times for his setup.

Yeah 11's, imagine a turbo that's half the size of your evo turbo on a completely stock block and head, making enough power to push that car down the track like that.

Maybe this will help you understand its a 33 to 35 lb per min turbo. Unlike the evo stock ones that are 45 to 48.

Very good on a stock 14b. These cars can do so much utilizing most of the stock components.

my buddy recently just took his stock 14b out(ran as hard as my buddies big 16g) due to the recent purchase of a hx40 8blade. he weighs 2620lbs(full interior gut, stock 1g seats, stock steering wheel, no dash) but he still has the full rear crash beam, stock suspension and full 3 inch exhaust so there is plenty of weight to be lost still.

im sure he had a high 12 second car with the 14b (full bolt ons untuned at 20psi 91 pump) and with the new fp exhaust mani, tial q, sd, e85, 255 walbro he would have been damn near 11s easy!

with the holset I think 10s is not even reaching too far. it should break 400whp mustang at around 25psi without even sweating and with his weight (2500lbs) he will be flying.

What killed me is he did the basic 2g pistons 1g rods and he shimmed the wga to keep it closed a little longer and with that setup he ran slower without any changes what so ever. I take that back he didn't have the slicks and rims but when he did borrow a set he still was way slower buy .4 seconds at least. Funny how a stock motor goes back in and he gets faster with a set of his own slicks and tires. Plus he cut a 1.4 in the 60ft which I could not believe in the least.

Yeah we are going to try to get Shane a 10.99 with his 14b. I know it is in the car we just have to find where to make the power. I know he is low for timing, so we think if we can bump it a tad, and tear out some more weight he has in it still he should be ok. I know him and Phil Beers talk about certain things to help and I have no idea what kinda tricks he has left but driving the car myself I know that 10 second pass is in it for sure.

Well an update that has taken a little to long to get on here but I have some free time at work so here it is.

Shane got my carbon fiber hatch, my JMF race bumper, no rear brakes for the shootout. Car did pretty awesome but he did have some issues. Best time at the shootout was 11.14@ 119 mph. The car definitely had more in it, but I think he just got to excited and started tinkering with the setup with the air pressure, and taking some more fuel out being he has 11.2 afr with e85 so yeah he had some issues. I personally think he took to much air out and then put to much back in and didn't have the sweet spot. Friday nite is when he made that pass with 12 psi of air in the tires. Saturdays passes he had more air and he was spinning like mad out of the hole but yet still manage 1.4 60 ft times. He kept hopping badly going into second and couldn't fix that being I believe he didn't have enough air in the tires as he did before. He kept going lower and lower and it got worse and worse. So that is my update for this, I will keep you posted being we are shooting for a 10.99 on a stock 14b car.

Another note of the weekend He did beat XrogueX in his evo which has way more power lol. That made my weekend.
