Mark's 8 Second - 5 speed - 1G - First Weekend in the 8's
For those that don’t know me I’ve been into 4g63’s for 15+ years. I’m sponsored by MAPerformance, and I’m located in MN. I’ve got a couple of threads on here, from building manifolds on my 6266 powered Evo IX to dyno threads of the results.
I wanted to post up my fastest pass to date, the weekend went great over all. This is my 1G DSM, my first passion into the 4G63 land. Ran three passes 8.91, 9.01, 8.86 and then a red light too. It was my first time in the 8’s.
The event was the MAP Proving Grounds 2014.1. This video is of the 8.86. It was for time trials, I figured I needed to face the Toyota, since I would be seeing him in the finals. I’m 100% happy that I got out first. Holy crap that thing is a liability to be next to! Unfortunately I red lighted in the finals.
The car is:
Engine/drivetrain:
MAP 2.3L
MAP Stage 5 Head – Kiggley springs & HLA, GSC S3’s
Magnus V3 intake – Wilson TB
Shearer T4 top mount exhaust manifold
Wiseco 8.5:1 HD stoker pistons
Manley Turbo Tuff Rods
FIC 2150’s & FIC 900’s supplied by a Weldon 2345a.
OEM 100mm crank – ALC bearings
Turbo: GT4276R (PTE billet 76 converted) - 44psi
AEM series 2, AEM individual O2’s (Just recently saved me from burning a cylinder down!!), AEM CDI2
Shep Dogbox
Tilton Carbon/Carbon Clutch
DSS drive shaft & Pro Rear axles
Frontline rear end girdle
Car weight is 2575lbs with me in it

Wow, nice pass! And nice build man. It take A LOT of work to get down that low. Congrats!
On a different note, the dude in the right lane probably crapped himself. Very surprised he held on to it. I thought for sure it was going into the wall. Nice video man.

Yeah, some crazy driving to save it!
Thanks Charles, it was a great weekend. I'll get the evo out for the MAP 2014.2 event
Thanks, took a lot of time to get this all figured out.

I'm not sure, no dyno pulls with this tune. I got a baseline on a dyno last year with the switch from a series 1 ems to a series 2 ems, the power was not impressive. I dialed it in on the track and streets. The time slip demonstrates that it's making good power.
