The decision has been made on adding a new Index Class.

The most common complaint from people racing now is that the cars have gotten to fast, so a mild build can't compete in any of the classes. This is understandable and the nature of the how the event has progressed over the years. There are guys who want to run FWD's, there are guys who want to run any mods they want etc. Doing a 10.90 class I feel is too fast for a lot of guys trying to compete with a stock turbo build. It is also not easy to accomplish with a FWD. There has to be a point that a DSM/EVO/FWD/RWD/GTR can reach fairly easily without breaking the bank. There has to be a point that a car that is capable of running 10.5's but can't win a normal heads up class can slow down to with a turn of the boost controller to run heads up and still be fun. That point to me after careful thought is 11.50's.

Some guys may have to step up their game slightly and others will need to slow down a bit but that's the point of an Index class.

For those of you that don't know how this is going to work. This extra class you will be trying to run as closely to 11.50 every single pass as possible. The class is run on a Pro Tree and will be open to ANY Shootout legal vehicle. So DSM's/EVO's/GTR's or any other Mitsubishi powered vehicle. Mods don't matter, you can run the car in ANY configuration you want.

Spread the word.
Well Dave I think you have really hit it on the head, I think this will be one of the most fun classes of 2015 considering ALOT more people will run there cars and not fear embarrassing themselves. Also this is obtainable for almost anyone.

I think if its a huge hit he could do a 10.0 class also the following year. 11.5 and 10.0 is a nice range to either turn the car down or up the wick.

Thanks guys. I hope the class goes over well. I'd like to see more cars racing and in the pits and not sitting in the parking lot!

I'm curious as to why an air filter is required to run in the Street Eliminator class next year?

I have a standard placement manifold and I will switch out the filter for a bellmouth velocity stack in order to get the most out of the car when at the track.

Going to be a little bummed if I have to run street 32 because of this.

Either way I'll be making the haul from Wash. State to attend my first Buschur Shootout in 2015!!

Very simple. The class has always been intended for STREET cars, hence the name of the class. Street cars run air filters, exhaust etc. For cars that can't run an air filter there is Street 32 which is geared more for a race car.

Will you be requiring heat as well? Or can I remove it and save a little bit of weight and still run the Street Eliminator class

The class doesn't require the heater or a/c.

There are a LIMITED number of plug ins in the pits. For the racer section there are more.

We're proud to be sponsoring the Street 32 class (ST32) at the Shootout this year. We'll be giving away some cool prizes so hopefully we'll see a lot of you there. We'll have more specific information about our plans for the event on our FB page (http://fb.com/KigglyRacing) in the coming months.
