Ahhh! >:(

Alright, here's a racing story. A bad one for me.

Me Vs. my friend (95 Civic EX)

I have: automatic, intake, header, exhaust, ecu piggyback, and just recently changed my spark plugs. I have one passenger.

Civic EX: manual, intake, intake manifold, header, cam gear, exhaust, lowered (but has a big system 4 12"s), and a passenger in his car

We race, I launch a head of him, ahead till about the end of 2nd gear. He beats me about 2 or 3 car lengths ahead of me. HE has a lot done and is manual so I wasn't that upset. He can also shift real good.

Here:s the bad part:

Me vs My other friend (95 Civic EX)

He has: nothing, bone stock! can't shift, steel wheels! weighs like 260 lbs, heh all he has advantage on is he is manual.

We race, he must have beat me buy 4 car lengths. we raced twice, first time I jumped on him but he still beat me. I had a passenger with me, I know we weighed more together than he does, but that really doesn matter 4 car lenghts.

So later on, I have my friends G-Tech with me (one of the older ones, I heared its not that accurate) but anyways, I run my car with it... I run an 18.08. > Damn! that is slow for the mods I have, I just want to trade my car in. I know people are gonna say my car looks better than a civic though, I know it does, but it's embarrased to be beaten by a 95 POS civic with nothing done to it.

Holy **** thats a horrible story especially with the new piggyback I guess the manual is what killed you but still! You should of been able to take the stock one with ease! Did you race long enough?

it also could be a matter of getting used to knowing exactly when to shift and shifting quickly while not loosing many rpm's. better luck next time. I won't even tell my story about losing to a mini-van ...

Right before I shifted into 3rd gear he was ahead of me like 4 car lengths, I just gave up and went for another go. I was pretty sure I wouldn't have caught him by how fast he was pulling on me.

For some weird reason I did better against my friend with all the stuff done to his engine. But he did have a big system in his car, plus a body kit. So he was a lot heavier. That's why I think I was ahead of the first car for longer.

But 18.08!

Come on!

But I will tyr and make myslef feel a little better. One of my friends used a the G-Tech on his car and it showed him about a second slower than he ran on the track. So hopefully he just wasn't driving better at the track.

So maybe I ran a 17.08! Maybe not... :/

Well I am automatic so I just press the gas...

When I raced the first one that I stayed ahead of for a little bit. I was shifting my auto (ya I know). But I was taking it all the way up RPM and shifting good and getting a punch into the next gear. Maybe I should race my other friend with the stock civic again and try that. But it can't be that much of a difference

I got beat by a work van (before piggyback). It was some tile place I think. But anywas it was one of those 3500's or whatever. Those vans are fast.

not to hijack the thread .. but .. it was an older POS astrovan. automatic too ... then again, I also bogged badly off the line. I'm not too worried about it. It was before my catback so we'll see what happens in the future. I wasted an older, like 90/89 civic today and that was nice. He did give me a thumbs up. my brother was with me and laughed @ me when I lost to the minivan as he was my passender. THen again, I also lost to his '93 ford escort (has SRI and ignition kit) before having any mods. we'll see. A week or so ago I was driving to the freeway with my GF and behind me saw some dope HID's .. was like hmm I wonder what that is. Up pulls a brand new red ferrari with an older guy on it. He smoked me HARD pulling onto the freeway, but DID give me a thumbs up as he pulled away hard.

pumpdog720 - you have stock tires? could be tread .. ?? Or maybe you were just having an off night. don't take it too hard man! the wins will come!

Off night? Maybe, that's what I was thinking. My ECU piggyback was screwy. I think my connections were bad, cause my car would sometimes stall on startup. So maybe I can blame the lose one my connections. But the car is faster though... I will be soldering my connections this week.
