Hey Emil, it was nice to meet you at AMS... my highest trap speed was 115. All of my other runs were 114, I added some fuel up top on that last run, it was running way lean up top, I'm sure with a few more adjustments I could have gotten a better et and trap speed, but I ran out of time. I'm running Dunlop SP5000's all seasons right now, stock suspension, rims, shifter etc. I took the clutch restrictor out, running the stock lines, engagement was more predictable. I use an aggressive clutch slip meathod, I like to keep my trans in one piece, not really concerned on the clutch life. I know that I'll be upgrading that stock unit soon for the future gt35R kit I should be going to the track this weekend again, I'll try to have an in car and out car camera going.

Let me know if you need a camera mount.. We've made a pretty neat one... It's linked in my sig.

I might come down and check it out if you go this weekend.. Post if you are for sure!

I agree with the agressive clutch slip method. I have not run at the track, but I have replaced the clutch once and will do so again rather then replacing the tranny. Your 60" times show that an agressive clutch slip works, I would like to see what you get with something like an ACT clutch. I am running one now and have been very impressed with the way it will lock up after it slips off of the line. I will slip it and then it will lock and spin the tires through the upper half of first, it makes for a great launch.

That would be sweet

BTW which version of the piper cams are you running? Rally, race or road?

I haven't gotten on the dyno yet to see what power it's making... hopefully this weekend GRD will let me get on the dyno. I'm running the 265 Piper Rally cams, they idle pretty good and love the spool up. Once i get tuned, I'll post the dyno chart and head off to the track again looking for low 11's

No offense, but unless you can squeeze quite a bit more power out of your car (50-60 whp) low 11s is not realistic!!!

Just my .02 cents

11.4's are 3 tenths away, that won't take 50-60 whp. If you look at my 1/8 mile trap at 92 mph, my 1/4 traps should be in the 117's. Remeber this is w/ my car not fully tuned, a base map... running 93 and 100 octane mix. I will be tuning with the AEM EMS, and using straight 104 or C16. An 11.4 is very reachable, and I will hit it, no doubt in my mind.

...if your clutch will hold, that is.

Good luck. Keep us posted

I cant wait to see the low end TQ with those cams in. Get us that Dyno Graph ASAP.

BTW are you running the cams/valvetrain package that quantum racing sells? If you dont mind me asking how much was install, did you DIY, where? Are you running cam gears, because I heard a few degrees negative on both can help the spool up and low end TQ alot (not to mention idle correction)??

Wow! I'm amazed the stock clutch can do that. Good times, man. A tuned EMS will definitely help!

yes this is the same cams/valvetrain package you can get through Quantum or myself. I had a friend install it for me, he's worked on many DSM's, did a great job. I'm not running cam gears yet, but will be installing some shortly. I have a dyno day set at GRD in Naperville on 4/22/04, so I'll post some dyno charts then.
