No excuses usually for me but only got two runs in and 1 1/2 hour waits were the norm. My first run I shifted into fifth from 2nd and when I finally got it into 3rd all boost was lost and it was a 13.2 run at 103 mph. Car seemed to be slow even after I corrected the mistake. Thought about calling it a day and support Smog in his quest for 12 flat or better. After Smog got 2 runs in at 113mph plus 12.3-12.4s I decided to run with Smog on the last go around. As me and Smog lined up we got pulled off the track because water was dripping from our front ends due to using the intercooler spray right before staging. They made us wait until everybody got their last run in and the last run of the day was me and Smog side by side hoping for 12.1 or better. Did not happen for either of us but Smog did out drive me and put a whoopin on me. 3/4 of a car to be exact. It was interesting as to how close our cars Ets are. He traps a lil higher 112 to my 111 mph but down low it seems that I have a slight edge. Think maybe my clutch holds a lil better. His et barely edged me I think within .036. We have no idea about 60ft times as that device was down for the day. Today sucked for several reasons. Hotter than normal down at Carlsbad, VW bugs galore that made up at least 50% of the population(too many cars from what I am used to at Carlsbad usually can make up to 15 runs if you want to.),the event started late due to problems with the starting tree and timing equipment. Long waits on an upslope with very lil gas. Smog took me out to the woodshed. And 12.3 was Smogs best and I can only muster a 12.5.ouch. Oh well maybe i will prep a lil better with my tempremental car. Are Evos female because mine and Smogs were on the rag today. Just kidding our driving skills were probably partially responsible for the slow ets. Next time Evotom your dynasty will fall. OUT!

Sorry to hear you didn't do well. It seems Carlsbad was like a day at Fontana, not enough runs for the time you are there. Don't worry you'll get another shot at the title another day. Good luck to you and Smogrunner.

Well, I did set a personal record for my trap speed two times in a row: 113.6. My best ET was a 12.30, only a tenth from my best time ever. So, all in all it wasn't a waste for me. However, in my effort to equal Evotomig, I did strip down my car like never before. I always take out my spare and jack, but today I took out my passenger seat and rear seat for an additional 60 to 65 pound savings. Also, I bought one of those Odyssey mini batteries which saved me another 20 lbs. Even took the glove box out. All in all, I stripped out about 85lbs more than usual. My stock clutch held up but I can't help but think I am losing at least a tenth or two from its softness. But like IE said, it just wasn't our day.
Evotomig, the crown is still yours, but don't think we are not nipping at yer heels. You are still the man bro.
Finally, that Al vs. Vishnu thread where Al announces his refusal to post anymore is getting interesting. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=52866 Al is coming to SoCal within the next month and one of his customers wants to go to the track the following day to have a Vishnu vs. Dynoflash type deal. His name is Denom and he seems cool. Please, if you are interested in attending, let me know. I fully expect at least one Vishnu NorCal resident to make it down for the day.

Sorry to hear you guys had a bad day. (actually not really..j/k)
The reality is: we're not going to improve everytime we go to the track in every area. Smog, you improved your trap, so I guess the weight reductions helped.
IE, don't get too frustrated. You seem to have a very "picky", det. prone car.
As far as the Dynoflush vs. Vishnu "shootout", let me know exactly when next month and I'll try to make it down there.
Maybe w/ something new under the hood. We'll see.

Are you 2 ready to take another stab at carlsbad this weekend? Maybe we will have to run over to the faster track up in SAC to see about beating the 12.1 since the track in Norcal is alot faster then what we have here in Socal.Originally Posted by Moon Light Kid

Just a myth, buddy.
The track at Sac. is 20-30 degrees hotter than your Carlsbad and hardly ever prepped well. Therefore don't use the "faster track" bullshi@ as a crutch for the slower times. Give credit where it's due.
BTW
Get an EVO before you write checks that your friend's EVO cannot cash.
No offense to you Smog and IE. You guys are cool.

Actually E-town is one of the fastest tracks in the states and "IS" faster then anything in Socal. Oh and the fact is that Sac is at sealevel and is 100% better then carlsbad. But then till you run at our tracks here you will have no clue as to what we deal with.
BTW I have plenty of "PRO" drag racers as friends which drag race all the tracks in the states and they say the exact same thing.
What do I need a EVO for when I have a 400+ wheel hp Audi A4.
The odd thing is that people that run at faster tracks think they are faster when it is actually the track that makes them look faster. They just dont find out the truth till they run at a slower track and find out that not all tracks are equal.
DO you even have a clue about what weather and track conditions? Yes you might be 20-30 deg warmer but it is also dry as hell put there which is what you want anyway. I have done my best times during 100+ deg temps while the air was very dry.
Yes you can have credit, but that is at your track and not vs anyone else at another track. If you want credit for being faster then someone else then your going to need to do it running side by side on the same track PERIOD.

Aren't there any Audi forums that you can go on and annoy those folks?? Originally Posted by Audi2ptzero

Dont worry I only annoy those that cant handle being wrong or being beat at the track.
Maybe you should do your "HOMEWORK" before you open your mouth about how fast or slow a track really is. Its really not all that hard since all you have to do is look at ET times at all the tracks for a stock car with an automatic trans. Best one to look at is the Ford lightning.

You're sincerely invited to come up to the super duper fast Sac Raceway to prove your theory. (that's if Smog is crazy enought to lend you his EVO)

Hey Audi2 Big Daddy Don Garlitts, Evotom is sovereign until we can beat his time. Nothing says me and Smog can't go up and try Sac to beat his time. Carlsbad is ghetto but the day I ran my good times it was perfect conditions and I was a good 60ft away from 12.1. Both Smogs and Etoms cars are a lil stronger than mine IMHO but I will still try to get a better et in the near future. MPH is not happening in my Evo as it seems very strong down low but crapsss out on top when compared to Smogs Evo. Evotom was stuck in the 12.3-12.4 et range for lil bit but a lil retune by Shiv and he busted loose with a 12.1 at 114mph. Congrat Evotom and way to keep Smog and me on our toes and in check. This stuff motivates us.

still trying to figure out why you keep saying I need to borrow smogs EVo or why I would even need to buy one since I own the highest hp audi A4 in the states.
I already proved that I can better smogs times by .3 seconds which would put his car well ahead of your car at even carlsbad.
Does this really look like I need a evo?

Smog's car 311whp on Shiv's dyno.
My car 314.4 whp on Shiv's dyno.
Do the math, genius. Same track. Same driver. Which wins.??
Dude, I have nothing personal against you. IE started this thread. You respond in a provoking manner by mentioning the different tracks. Who cares??
Let's just agree to disagree.
