depends on the mods.. stock id launch at redline and slip the clutch till it hooks than i dump it... with around 350whp id slip the clutch at 4k rpms... now i slip the clutch at 5100rpms and slip it all through 1st and some of 2nd(i have a very strong clutch)
best 60ft was 1.63 and ave mid/high 1.7s... now i shoot for 1.9s so i dont break any drivetrain parts

what? I love the G35 2 door and 4, but you lost to them. what happened. I raced a couple the other day, fully loady with brembo's and all, and i kick the crap out of him. I didn't even need to drop it. i just started off like i normally do. he even got a jump on me. i would hate to see how bad i would beat him if i droped it about 5 to 5500 rpms.
well good luck next time you see him and kick his a$$

It means you don't just sidestep the clutch pedal, you ride it out a little while applying the gas. There is a fine line to doing it right, You don't want to burn the hell out of it nor do you want to drop it to fast, just practice a little, you will get it.

There is more to it then just high rpms and the clutch. Launching a AWD turbo car is a little harder then most think it would be. Since it is a turbo car you want to bounce the rpms up and down to get the turbo spooling, this way when you do launch the boost will come on real quick and reduce the lag. Doing it this way and you can launch at a lower rpm then holding the rpms at a set level. You dont have to ride the clutch if you do it right, you will have to ride the clutch if you do it WRONG and cause the car to bog. If you bog the car alot you can raise your tire presssure up to 45 lbs to give less traction and allow you to put less pressure on the driveline. I have launched a few cars and did so without any time in the car before launching it hard.
