Hi, Ok My bro Has a 2000 Nissan Pulsar 1.8lt And I have a 2002 Lancer vrx( or OZ)

Anyway we don't want to race just wanted to know who was faster specs wise. Me not being a car buff was wondering if you guy's have any insite in the matter.
Also what's the advantage in having a DOHC to a SOHC.

I think he will.. I used to have a 90 Pulsar nx with the 1.8 Not the best engine but that car is so damn light...of course the 2000 isn't realeased here and from the last sketch I saw of their redesign it is a complete different monster. his is turbo tho and it should hands down have you

 

what does the pulsar look like? i've never heard of it!

yeah I think we might... This Pulsar is the Aust Version... it dosn't have a Turbo. I beet him once in my old 4 cyl Camry which had bad power to weight. so yeah
It would suck if he beat me cos his car was $23,000 and mine(lancer vrx) was $28,000 standard

By Aust version you mean Australia? The 1.8 on sale here in Australia does 0-100 9.9sec and the 1/4 in 17.1sec. It has 92kw and 161nm. Not sure what that converts to. Apparently the Lancer is low 9's for 0-60mph, I have no knowledge of the actual times, so it should be a close race but you should win.

Yeah I think the lancer would prob kick it !!! More torque and lighter car.

Another thing also.....

I was looking at the specs for a Imprezza RX ( base model) it has specs close to the Lancer do you think it would be a close race? or would the AWD Make a huge difference.. I mean the lancer has quite A bit more torque but the Imprezza has slightly more HP ( well both are 92KW) but the power for the lancer is @ 55000 and the imprezza is 92kW @ 5600rpm

Lancer is lighter too by 200kg just wondering... or if anyone has raced and have an outcome for me?

 

Wow I just went on www.carsales.com and they have all the specs for most cars ... Anyway they say the Imprezza RX does "Acceleration - 0-100km/H (Secs) : 10.2 " Damn does that mean I would be able to take one on?.... sorry for these questions ... Just trying to justify not buying the RX hehe
