help me hit 11's

ok basically my current mods are for an evo 9 gsr
3'' turbo back exhaust
02 housing
hallman mbc
walbro 255
k and n drop in filter
and dynoflash

basically im debating on ether the cosy cams or the gsc evo 9 cams

or there is the other option of alky injection to their all about the same price

im tryin to get a safe 11 sec pass

also have a clutch and flywheel from act waiting to be installed aswell,

please what do u suggest alky or cams

i hit 11's on racegas and what you have... only difference is an exedy clutch and FMIC LICP.

Cam not Cam(s), but race gas would do the trick along with good driving

GSC and Cosworth both make intake and exhaust CAMS

Tarmacisback69,

What have you ran at the track with your current mods? By the way, there is a drag racing section that this thread should be in.

Alky!!!

Nvr2old32 Apr 10, 2007 05:11 AM

I would recommend doing both. They both need to be tuned anyway so why not install both and have only one tune session.

If you can't afford both, start with the cams.

Cams and intercooler piping, and you should definitely hit 11's. If anything else, add a little better octane.. 102, 110, c16, etc... and turn up the boost a little and you should be fine.

You have the mods to hit 11s w/ race fuel, but it depends on your driving ability and track conditions. I have the same mods and 11s for me would be a pipe dream unless I let somebody else drive my car:lol:

Well i did 12.1@114 first time at the track on pump and on the stock clutch, thus the 40psi tire pressure (better to spin instead of breaking something)...

After the runs i checked logs and other info and i found many things that i did wrong which cost time, like slow gearchanges, holding the gear way out of my powerband (instead of changing gears at around 7200rpm i was holding all the gears a bit over 7600rpm)...

Mods in my sig...

You can do high 11s on pump but you need all the bolt-ons and a good tune!

cos cams, fmic licp, gt35r kit and 100 octane should get you 11s

Clutchdc5 Apr 10, 2007 07:54 AM

lol?

Thats a lot of overkill just to run an 11.9.

fastrob691 Apr 10, 2007 08:15 AM

you are trapping high enough now. Let the car cool off lots between runs, shift 7000-7100 and shift fast. I hit 11.93 with same mods, more or less and lift every gear when shifting.

if you are referring to me then yes i know that i have to shift faster and lower my shift points...

i always fully lift when changing gears...

I ran the car with full interior, a bit less than 1/2 tank of gas and me as a driver who i weight 250 pounds!!! So i guess when i ran i was at around 3500-3550 pounds...

In the next couple of weeks i will go again and run both on pump and racegas to see the difference... if the stock clutch holds!!!
