{thumbup} 1.53 60's (can be and will be improved), and the wheels are from an EVO MR, not a bicycle, although I was prepared for this kind of comments, regardless is obvious we are extremely happy and hope that all you can achieve your goals just as we did too... Cheers! |
It's not like you guys aren't known for this, but that's just beyond reasonable for a regular set of rims and tires. In the vid, although it's dark and the rims are supposedly black (or dark), they look almost non-existant in the wheelwell. There has to be something else going on at these tracks causing such low 60's and times, because 1.53 on regular street tires/rims just makes no sense. With less power than you, I blow my street tires off my rim trying to launch even with very low tire pressure...spin city. The ET and trap just don't match up even for a 1.53, because you can hear the shifts aren't that great (not like the FP Green car that went 10.2).

I am not sure of the correlation between road racing and not talking crap, but I don't think I'm talking crap anyway. The numbers just don't match. I know these guys are awesome and they are to be congratulated, but the ridiculous numbers are usually on the motorcycle tires. This was NOT on those tires and is supposedly on street tires. What kind of tires? I dunno, because they haven't said. They could be drag radials or all-seasons for all I know, but I wouldn't refer to DRs as street tires.
The time is legit, and I know they are awesome at getting more out of less, but I think there is a factor that hasn't been explained, because the numbers just don't add up. I do not understand your reaction at all. If you knew more about drag racing and how to analyze timeslips, you would not react this way. I am not being mean nor derogatory. Hell, I even invalidated my OWN results recently, because they didn't make sense - the timers were off, but no one else questioned it. What do you mean by "this you guy's thing"? That and the "if you have nothing kind to say then say nothing at all" just make absolutely no sense. Again, I know these guys are awesome, but there is something missing here. The numbers you used as your example on further my argument. You are saying that they went over a tenth quicker with 2 less mph with regular street tires on shifts where you can hear the motor hesitating after the shifts. If that doesn't raise some questions for you, then I'm sorry. I am not here to invalidate anyone - I just want the whole truth about the track, the setup, and why the ET doesn't even remotely match the trap speed. |

I ran an 11.58 @ 116mph 1.71 60ft. Full weight all season tires. Just because the trap speed is not high doesnt mean that the numbers are wrong. |

JGC, yes "obviously" you would do that, but they said they are stock MR rims, which are full-sized even though you can't even see them in the wheelwells. They also claim "street tires," but that could be anything. I get the feeling their "street tires" aren't the same as my "street tires." Yes, good launches are a result of great setup and driving, but you can't make a tire grip that can't grip on a surface without incredible traction.
Yes, I would imagine the conditions are worse in PR than on the East Coast (and most of the US), but their results never seem to suffer. How does that work? I'm sure it helps that they can race all week, every week, hah. I was in the DC metro for years, and I know what you mean - all 3 tracks were an hour drive one way at least and only open on weekends. Again, I'm not questioning the overall skill, ability, and setup knowledge of everyone involved here. I have never even commented on any of the other threads with amazing results. It was just this particular one where the numbers don't add up, especially when you hear the car launch and hear the shifts. Something is missing from the equation. Seeing the whole timeslip may help... |
