Devin's 35r powered 4g63 goes 9.03 @ 2010 Shootout
I had a great time at the shootout this year and I have to say, I don’t think my car could have performed any better! Altho it was another hot August in Ohio with temps in the 90's, I consistently ran a 9.1-9.0 throughout the day and qualified 5th for the Quick 16. Like every year, the shootout was a great event with a lot of sick cars!! Altho I was able to squeeze in some time in between passes to talk to Emery, Shep, and some of the other guys in the staging lane area, I wish that I would've had more time to talk with everyone and check out more of the races. There's always next year tho...
9.18 3rd Round Quick 16 Qualifying Pass - 9.18 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiFN_ZXWTO4 I also ran another 9.18 during the 2nd round of qualifying, both times against White Gold. 9.03 First Round Quick 16 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28GR5B8uJ849.03 pass from a different angle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIXcJvtBUwkUnfortunately I was eliminated during the second round of the Quick 16 due to my own driving error - I bogged the launch against red rocket when I saw him tree me out of the corner of my eye. I tried to quickly adjust, but ended up dumping the clutch. After the event was done, I decided to hit the track one more time for a pass during test & tune. After a nasty burnout, and the car getting outta the hole like a mad man, I shifted into third only to experience a lil issue……. …the shifter broke off the car! Well, I guess that’s the end of the day for me, huh? I still need to weld in the shifter and create a bracket to help keep it stable before I head back to the track. I know this car’s got more 8 sec passes in her - can't wait to get back on the track! On the way back home, I decided to put the car on P&L’s dyno so that I can do a comparison with our Mustang Dyno here at Boomba. Once I get the results together, I’ll post up the final information. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpE3dfjPpuQ Special thx to Jason (AngryEvo8) and the entire Strictly Modified crew for all their help at the shootout!! And congrats to a few DevinTuned/Strictly Modified competitors - Joey Vittotio (Evosick2332) in his Evo 9 for making his best pass to date - 10.0 @ 140; and to Jason Flesher (AngryEvo8) in his Evo 8 for his second place win in the Evo Stock Appearing class. Thanks also to my sponsors Quarter Master Shepard Racing Devin Schultz @ Boomba Racing (in car video of the passes above coming soon) |
Awesome. Love the car... miss my DSM.

|

|
F***ing moving man. Love the DSM..owning my GST got me into the Evo world
|
Wow man. On that above angle for the 9.0 run, it looked your car was shot out of a slingshot!! Seeing stuff like this makes me miss my 2g awd talon. +1 for mod list. Congrats on a consistent low low 9sec high 8 sec car. Way to rep the DSM community.

Your car impresses the hell out of me, great job man!! What is the current weight on the car? 2750 race weight I assume? Or less?

I hope my car gets there one of these days :D Just got my car off the Mustang dyno. It made 797 on a dynojet and 703 on our mustang dyno here at Boomba Racing. Ill post the dyno sheet when I get home today. Devin Schultz |
Thanks man, I hope to get there really soon! I have been battling breaking rears and tcases for the last 2 years and I cant drive as good as you:p
Thats great power for what you have! I guess Im low 700's on a dynojet. You guys every mess with a rear diffusor (sp?) for the rear bumper? I see yours is cut out a little more which prob helps. Stopped by and talked to someone that was with you at the Shootout and checked out the car, looks great! |
