Qn about sequential H&T method
Let's say I am down-shifting from 4th to 2nd on the track, approximately 170kph -> 80kph.
Since I'm not like a professional driver from Best Motoring, I can't do the 2 h&t steps sequentially as fast, nor am I consistent all of the time, resulting in under-blipping occasionally.
What if I do this instead: stomp hard on the gas and as the speed nears 80kph, I go frmo 4th->2th directly, simultanesouly giving it one single blip?
Any down-sides to it? The only one I can think of right now, is that this throttle-blip must be quite hard to match the revs... maybe?
Thanks for any comments guys.

Rev matching from 4th to 2nd isn't doing harm to your motor, but not always the smoothest gear change because of such a broad rpm range(bad for the tranny). Though a better technique could be used, it’s called “healtoe” and I’m sure you’ve heard of it. If you can healtoe correctly it will allow you to be able to go from 4th to 3rd to 2nd smoothly. It’s easier to rev match 4th to 3rd than it is to rev match 4th to 2nd. Thats why you want to learn how to healtoe. The reason why rev matching is important is because you want the syncros in tranny to line up properly (a nice smooth shift). If you go from 4th to even 3rd without matching the revs, you’ll notice it will feel a little rough getting into gear and that’s not a good thing. Good luck!
“What is healtoe?” Braking with your toe as well as applying the gas peddle at the same time to rev match.
