2nd for me as well. a big help for me was learning to get out of first just shy of redline. makes 2nd a little easier to grab. i have no problems with 3rd and 4th

I agree it definately makes a difference how you hold the knob, my slowest would be either 2nd or 5th(largest jump). For issues with 3rd if you just open up your palm and push up it goes into 3rd naturally, i wouldn't worry about pushing it back into first. I think on almost all cars going into second is the biggest pain. Its also the position of your body cuz your arm rubs into your body (not kidding, i heard this from many driving instructors).

1-2 is nasty since day 1 (40 miles). Every other gear is perfect.

+1, I don know why it grinds, but I have found that holding it different makes a difference

+1 on the 1-2 Shift. Only gear I ever miss. Don't know why. straight back would seem to me like an easy motion to make. :scratcheshead:

5th is the slowest for me, 1-4 is no problem. the way your holding it make a big difference too. i ways cup my hand when i shift from 1-2nd, so it will be like pulling it down, and then use my palm to push it to 3rd. never had a problem with shifting.
