Any driving tips for permant road circuit drivers?

This is my 1st AWD Turbocharged machine (E9GT JDM) and I'll be taking it for its virgin run at Sepang International Circuit http://malaysiangp.com.my/. I used to run FFs in circuits but heard scarry things about the Evo so I just wana know a little more about the car, what to do, what not to do. Stuff like should I even trail brake? Must I maintain some throttle throughout the corner(heard from some peps that the car will spin out when you take your foot off the throttle in the corner)?

Anything informative would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

They're just scaring you. You can trial brake just fine but it's about modulation of course. Stock suspension does have a tendancy to walk the back end though. A 25MM swaybar will fully cure that sensation.

Don't sweat it too much - I normally track an MR car and the Evo was pretty bang on within a few seconds of my MR times within a few laps of adjusting. I trail the Evo to get it to rotate. If it's on the stock suspension, it'll gobble up curbs and rumble strips like a child with a bag of candy.

Service the brakes before you take it as they'll take a real beating at the track (the red paint will be cooked brown at the end of the first session).

Don't sweat it - in stock form, it's a pretty forgiving car. I think that's where the reputation comes from: people tend to push the limit beyond their talent and get caught out. Don't do that and you should be fine.

Jealous! I'm told Sepang is a ridiculously cheap circuit to run on!
Would love to see some pics of the circuit and what turns up to run.

Honestly, whatever people told you about your car is crap, those things are the easiest cars to drive at the track. They are fun, they are simple, they're basically like a video game. Don't worry about it, if you've driven on track at all, you'll be surprised how easy the Mitsu is.
