3000-4000 seems to be a good launch RPM for the Lancer, but you should practice at every light to learn how quickly to let the clutch out (I never did get it down perfect), but you dont' want to launch too many times unless you feel like buying a trans/clutch soon.

on stocks (tires)and on a regular blacktop(street) ive tried it at (rpms!)
5K...too much tire spin
4k...some tire spin
3K... a lil spin but had a good lauch
on my kuhmos
5K...havent tried
4k...some spin...but it gripped(oh i had my syste in the trunk so heavier in the back!)
3k...gripped right away but dropped me off at a low rpm...so i kinda had to feather it.

i dont like to launch a lot but....i mess around sometimes

3-3.5K don't pop the clutch, ride until it grabs completely and gas it while letting off the clutch slowly but not too slowly or else you'll be buying a new clutch. this is MY best way to launch. key word is....PRACTICE.....you won't get anywhere just reading, try it and if not, experiment. i've ate a 03 RSX-S off a dig and right when i got to second, he was gone. practice...practice...practice...practice...with heavy mods+quick launch driver=fast car, no matter what people say about Lancers. it's the driver....with skills.
