5000rpm quickslip with consistent 1.8 60' ...Am strongly considering the quick slip at 3K though

you can try that and see what happens but my attempts at the lower range either bogged or you end up slipping alot to keep the revs up. if you let out at 5000-6000 you have more of your power and torque on board less bog. if your to low then you have to hold out on the clutch longer until you get your speed up. remember the less time your slipping your clutch the longer it will last. but try that and see what you get. thanks

I launched my car at 5,500 rpms and slipped the clutch rather quickly. I ended up with a 1.9 sec. 60' in the rain (LOL). Unfortunately I did back to back runs, so the clutch was extra smelly (About 6-8 runs). I tried the drop of the clutch method, but it didn't work for me at all. The car flat out bogged. Then again my car is basically stock. Please note that I had a full tank of gas and a 220 pound passenger. Times were taken with a Gtech Pro Competition.

4500-5000 quick slip. You have to "feel" it out and if done properly you'll be rewarded.

At Bandimere my very frist pass in the EVO (EVER!) I managed a 1.75 60'. Keep in mind this is at 5800ft ASL and on a track that is not known for great 60's.

I've only been once this season so far, but I plan to make it when my schedule allows. At least 2 times a month.

I wont be able to make that event. We're having a major inspection here at work and I'm on a 6 ring telephone standby. I'd love to go and better my 12.8@105 (Buschur Stg 1) now that I've got Stg 2 installed.

Aren't you just helpful?

I autocross and want a good launch, there are times out of the gate like a rocket is a good thing, other times it isn't.

My launching experiments have me eating a bit too much clutch but doing better now. I'm not getting to the point that I really get any chirp or spin - yet. Isn't the best result a light, hazing spin as the motor gets up to powerband and the car shoots forward? ... or is the fastest approach with no wheelspin?

Thanks for your input!

no problem. Never thought launching could be used in autocross. Now I understand. I thought you were using your evo for drag racing.
Good luck on enjoying the evo in its intended form of motorsport.

I've slipped the clutch at about 3-4k and had no clutch smell at all, just a massive take off

dropping means just letting go....and slipping is smoothly letting up of the clutch
