anyway to tell if car has been flashed?

I just bought my car used and the car already had mods on it. I bought it from a dealership so I wasn't able to talk to the original owner. I'm sending the ecu off to be flashed, but I'm curious if the car may have been flashed before. Is there anyway to tell? I haven't done any logging yet to see how it's running. but is there something I should look for? or will they know right away when I send it to be flashed?

Thanks in advance guys!

We are the only ones who can tell if its been flashed - I have seen several used cars that the new owners did not know had previously had my flash. In one car the previous customer had taken off all his mods, cams, exhuast, intake, etc etc and restored in back to stock but left the Dyno Flash for the mods in the car

We test the flash in the car with the sum code - I know which sum codes relate to which stock flash version and which are aftermarlet flashes

You may also be able to tell if the Rev limit is higher than stock. Dynoflash raises it to around 7800RPM if I remember right. Stock is somewhere around 7400. Go try to bounce off the Rev limiter and see what RPM you get to. Not fool proof, but could be an easy way of telling.

No - we list the custom tuned flashes by evo m name in a black book. The base flashes are coded by sum code so I can look them up when they may come back in the future.

Now that serial numbers are recorded in the 05 evos ecus through OBD II I may start keeping a log of the serial numbers on the custom tunes - especailly on the MRs (they dont have too many)
