How do you get 2 ecus to work in 1 evo?

How or should I say has anyone got 2 different ecu's to work in 1 evo on the same set of keys or are 2 different sets of key's required for the different ecu's.I programmed a set of keys to 1 ecu and engine starts, swap out ecu's and programmed same 2 keys to other ecu and engine starts, but when I plug in 1st ecu, just cranks and cranks, like keys were never programmed. What gives.Using hand held Mitsu scan tool to do this. How are people doing the 2 different ecu/flash trick.Al,anyone???I realize that the imobilizer ecu is seperate from ecm,but it must recocognize a different ecu and not send the signal to enable ecu to start vehicle.
Any help would be great.

I would like to know if this is possible also. I would like one custom tune for pump gas and 20psi, and one custom tune for c16 and 25-26 psi. One for daily driver, one for racing. How do we go about this, and getting both to be interchangable to work with the same keys?

Thanks!

You can, but the second ecu has to be recoded by the dealer for the immobilizer. Otherwise your keys won't start the car with the spare ecu in.

Go ahead and try that,it doesn't work. The second ecu will start the car and then the original ecu will not.Been there, doen that. This vehicle has its own imobilizer ecu that knows that the ecu that is programmed to it and only 1.The only way to get it to work is to purchase a second imobilizer ecu and have your keys programmed to your 2nd ecu/imobilizer ecu combo

BTW - it should be noted that for Dyno Flash custom tuned owners the 2nd race gas map in the 2nd ecu is free of charge

Well??

So does anybody know if it is possible? Maybe there is a way to disable the immobilizer ecu. I know people have been succesfully disabling honda immobilizers, I just didn't know if this was possible with mitsu ones.

You have to take it to a dealer and have then load in the imobilizer and key codes. What I am not sure of is if you need two imobilizers - one for each ecu or if you can get away with one imobilizer for both ecus

if your buying a spare one from a wrecked car I would suggest picking up the imobilizer also so you have two of each

And you will still have a "piggy back" with all its disadavtanges and limitations - WHICH I do not care to get into another "debate" about here. Those who are interested in "piggy backs" can take thier discussion to other areas of these forums

A reflash of the factory ecu is vastly superior to any piggy back system - IMHO
