I set an appointment with Al for today, 12:00 pm EST at Pruven Performance in Milford, CT. I live north of Boston so one way travel was 180 miles, roughly 3 hrs, 15 minutes. Oh and I asked for the day off from work as well. I confirmed the day and time with Al on January 19th and emailed and pm'd him yesterday to confirm.

I should have smelled something when I got no confirmation but I figured, Al doesn't want to be bothered by my due diligence, I'll just show up because if I don't, and he does, I'm possibly out $300.

I make the ride down to Pruven and called Dan at Pruven at 9:00 am to confirm with him that they'll be there and I'm scheduled to be there with Al at 12:00. Dan says that I'm not in the book but that doesn't mean Al wont be there.... another question mark goes up.

Dan tries calling Al all morning as I'm making my commute there and calls me at 11:00 to say he's not heard from Al. At this point I'm 40 minutes from Pruven so I'm not turning back and Dan says, he's gonna pop up at some point today, come down and hang out. So I do, I hang out for 3 hours waiting for Al!!!!!! Numerous calls from Dan and me turn up nothing, Al is not responding to my pm's or calls.

This just may be a calendar breakdown on Al's part but, he knew I was coming 3 hours to meet him as we discussed this on the phone and, that I needed to know the availability of the AWD dyno at Pruven a week in advance so I could get the time off... Have I missed anything here....

Bottom line, if you run a business and respect your customers, you do the right thing. If you can't make an appointment you call the customer and cancel before they get in their car and drive 3 hours and, take the day off of work!

Al, I deserve a response to understand why you weren't there today. Also, there are two solutions to this:

1. Al, you credit my paypal account the 299.00 I paid in advance or,

2. You drive to Boston and perform the custom tune, which obviously would be a road tune.

Your choice but I refuse to drive 3 hours again for your services.

Thanks for everyone's attention and I hope this helps someone who was considering arranging a custom tune and has a commute like I have. Make sure you confirm with Al on day and time, and double check 2 days before your appointment. Also, check with Dan at Pruven to make sure you're in the book, even though it is not Dan's responsibility.

And Al, you owe Dan an apology as he was apologizing for you all day

MVEOVA,

Sorry to hear that, man. I was the guy with the MR that was there today. Dan is a stand up guy and I know he tried his best to help you out with your dillema. While Al may be losing his mind in his advanced years his tunes are top notch for entry and advanced level Evolutions. Playing Devil's advocate, I know Al is an almost impossible person to reach on the telephone due to his busy schedule as an attorney. But that in no way makes what happened today OK in any light. I think Al will do the right thing by you, though.

Al,

How much are you selling that booze injection kit for? Let me know~!

I'm really sorry for all that you went through. Waisted time and money and effort. I know that you are pissed I would be too, but an idea might have been talk to him even if it takes a couple of days to get through, let him know how pissed you are and see what he does. I don't know Al at all. However, he seems pretty stand up. Even though you definately have a right to be way pissed it always strikes me as odd when people post things like this without giving the situation a chance to play itself out. just my 2 cents. I hope it gets worked out to your satisfaction.

Al had plenty of time to respond and he didn't. I called him and pm'd him yesterday before I even made the effort to go to Pruven, just in case he got tide up somewhere else as Al travels around a lot. You would think if he were stranded somewhere because of all the snow up here, he would call me!!!

Thanks badboy with the MR, I've heard good things about Al's service that's why I paid him for a custom tune in advance but, today was uncalled for as a business owner.

Sorry for your inconvienince

I returned your call yesterday about comming to Pruven today and said that we would have to re-schedule the appointment. You must have errased it or I must have misdialed. Either way when you did not hear back from me to confirm AND you knew I was in LA tuning thsi weekend - that would be a huge indication that I might not be there.

I was stuck on a plane for 8 hours yesterday so I could only leave you a message once.

I called you to cancel as I was not sure how or when I would be returning from LA yesterday - As everyone knows with the giant snow storm this weekend air transportation was a huge nightmare and when I finally arrived at the airport my car was buried under a giant mound of snow.

In any event - no need to worry about loosing your money as I have already refunded you.

Give me a call when you have a chance and I am sure I can work out some suitable arrangemnet for you.

I know that you are frustrated about this and I appologize for your hassel - this is surely not something I intended to occur.

For those posting about me being hard to reach just call me anytime or PM me here - very easy to contact me

Al,

You must have dialed the wrong number because if you did call to cancel, I wouldn't have risen from bed at 6:00 this morning to feed my 9 month old then jump in the car to drive to Pruven...3 hours away. The snow storm was Sunday, if yu were stranded wouldn't it have made sense to 1. make sure you had the right number and 2, call me and pm me well ahead of this morning to let me know your troubles.

I figured you may have been tide up but, what if you were there today at Pruven and I didn't show up because I hadn't gotten a second confirmation from you after the storm, would you be so willing to reschedule?

Either way, I appreciate you refunding me my money and would still have interest in your services just not sure how to proceed...still pretty pissed about the whole thing

Give it some time man, you'll be happy with the tune, trust me! Funny thing is that I also tried calling Al today at about 12pm and couldn't get thru either. Talk to Al and he will set you up right.

The install and tune came out great. Even though we're running it extremely conservative, it's like a totally new machine. I'm going to wait for the block build-up before we light the wick and really turn it up. Thanks for everything Al. You and your Dynoflash are truly the gateway drug for those seeking to tap the true power potentials of their Evolutions. Once I got a taste of the power that the Dynoflash offers, I had to put down the pipe and pick up the needle.

To anyone wondering which custom flash to go with, I wholeheartedly endorse the Dynoflash as one of the most reliable, safe and financially sound decisions an Evolution owner can make to tap the true potential of their cars.
