I went to the track saturday just to see what I would put down now for a baseline for the season. I got some nasty wheelhop. I broke something just not sure what yet. I get some nasty binding when I make a sharp turn at low speed. Everything is fine going in a straight line. I e-mailed TRE and posted out in the engine/drivetrain section for some insight. I'm hoping I can fix it this week.

Sorry to tell you, but it sounds like your transfer case just took a ****. If you can talk to Jon at TRE, DO IT!!!!! He is a super guy to deal with.

Why does everyone always say your transfer case is fubared? most of the time its just the front dif that can be rebuilt for 300-400 bucks. just because the front dif is in the transfer case, doesn't mean the whole transfer case is gone. we are talkin abuot a difference in thousands of dollars.

Hmmmm. I am the Service Manager at a Dealership. We have see 3 already. This is what usually happens, Thats Why! What do you think happens when your diff breaks??? The peices go through into the ring and pinion. I know about having your diff rebuilt, been there done that. But if he is still driving it, then he has probably toasted it by now. I have already sent mine with LSD to TRE for rebiulding once already.

I driven as little as possible. When I put it up on the lift and drained all the fluids there weren't any chunks of metal comming out. So I'm hoping I can get it torn apart and it won't be that bad. We went ahead an started with the rear first, The rear diff had a lot of fine metal particals made the fluild almost look like a silver paint. I was getting a little problem from the rear driving it in tight circles, but nothing like that was comming from the front.
The transmission and the front diff looked pretty clean. I'm hoping I just broke the spider gears and that's it.

gotcha. the 2 ive seen have only messed the spider gears in the dif. didn't have any metal in the fluid to show that the ring and pinion was fuxored.

Well I took apart the front diff and the spider gears were trashed. Luckly everything stayed in the front diff. Now I just need to order some parts and put it all back together. Looks like i'm on for saturday still.
Oh yeah Victor I don't know if you remember me but I was the blue evo 8 at the SEDSM meet a couple years ago when just you and I were the only 2 evos there. We were doing figure 8s in that one parking lot.

Just to keep it simple and so I will have an extra core for any future problems that may arise I just bought a whole new transfercase.

Yea, I remember. That was a great time that night. I have perfected the 360, just ask BADEVO Its hell on the transfer, but fun as **** (dizzy). Anyways, you should sent off your transfer case to TRE so it will be shimmed correctly. Good luck at the tune.
