If you get that Kit be prepared to spend some MONEY on the internals in your engine. You can safely keep ur stock turbo or go with a BR440 flashed ECU by AL and ALKY injection and ull be pushing 440 whp with supporting mods of course that will definetelly get u into the 11's . Me myself on the other hand found out that 400 whp is plenty for daily use and ull still run 11's on a stock turbo and stock internals and flashed ECU.

Dont know what ur budget is but it costs money SERIOUS money to go fast, things might start braking constantly and thats money. I like to enjoy my car and still run 11's without chaning the turbo or internals and stock ecu .. Later on of course ill get a big turbo kit but the engine buildup is next on my list i like to drive my car not have it sit at the shop non stop.

Why are you saying that you need internals to run a BR500BB? Do you mean a ported head for better response, or are you talking stronger rods/pistons?

He is making 380 tq and 370 whp on the stock turbo. I guess he means that if you want to justify the additional lag and expense of such a aftermarket turbo you should get engine internals so you can run the kind of boost pressure needed and whp gains to justify such a path.

So you think it's a risky proposition to shoot for over 400 whp with a larger turbo and alcohol (a la 4ringturningcoat)? How many Evo's have you seen blow a motor where it appears that the damage was caused purely by too much power, vs. overly aggressive tuning, bad gas, etc.? What level of whp do you think is moderately safe on the stock bottom end (keeping in mind that moderately safe doesn't mean 100% safe or roadrace ready)?

I'm curious to see if anyone out there with over 400 whp and stock internal (stock head studs, rods, etc). I guess the studs need to be change for the alky kit then.

So with the alky kit one can run 25psi on stock turbo on pump gas (daily?)? I wonder how long the engine will last
