I am getting ready for the Dynoflash next month on Puerto Rico, we already installed a set of HKS 272/264 and a set of GSC 272/264 on two different Evos, the idle of course is a little rough on both, and I saw a video of a set of HKS 264/272 on another car and apparently the idle is almost the same.

Now, I am very interested on a set of HKS 264/272 or even 272/272, but I am very worried about the idle issues, I would like the car idle to be as closer to stock as possible.

My question to Al is, you think you will be able to make the idle very smoth with any of those combinations? or you recommend to stay with 264/264? Cam Gears help?

I am very worried about the idle and I am willing to sacrifice a few HP for a better idle.

cam gears will help, the idle isnt bad at all with the cams at leat 264in/272ex. But if youre really dont like it get some cam gears that should do the trick.

 

^^^ cam gears will definitely help.....i think they do have an idle flash, but im not sure. I dont think the idle is that bad with the 264/272.....ask EVO11V

 

I have the 272/264 setup and Al made my car run as smooth as a babie's ***!

 

Anyone else with 272s and cam gears? its really smooth or you can still notice the cams?

 

al can flash them to idle like stock..oh he can leave a nice lope in there for you and the driveabilty will still be great

 

How was the idle without the tunning?

 

i am curious, does the 272in/264 ext cause any back pressure cause their is more air coming in then going out? also i asked al he said you can get a stock idle with only the 264's with tuned.

 

^^ I've seen 272s with idle like stock, anything is possible with good tunning
