Adding a 6000rpm Launch Limiter

Al, can you do this on an 03? I'm not sure if it's been discussed before, but could be useful -TIA

OHHHHHHHH A 2-step would be nice. How about having the RPMS drop to 5000 Every time you hit the clutch, that way you don't have to let your foot off that gas

That shouldn't be a problem, DSM's only need a re-chip and clutch engage wire to do this.

'05 Evos shouldnt have a problem as they already have a clutch engagement system for the 5k studder box from the factory. Dont know is the 03/04's have this switch already or what. If not it would be as easy as running one wire.

There has to be. The car won't start unless you hit the clutch so there is some sort of sensor there and I bet it is the same for the 05 now modified to make it stutter.

You can have a 2-step with a couple of the piggybacks for evos

You are correct, the ECU is 'aware' of the clutch position via pin#91 (IIRC).

Although, just because the car does not start without the clutch being depressed does not automaticly mean the propper wiring is fed into the ECU. It's very easy to wire a relay onto the starter wire from the ignition switch to prohibit starting when the clutch is not pressed. It's much the same as a "starter kill" function of most aftermarket alarms.

I'd love to know how this is done.. the studder box DOES work off the ecu correct? So a simple clutch engagement switch & flash could make this possiable for the 03's... I'd do this in a heartbeat.... bump for info!

I wouldn't see how it couldn't be done.. Might have to use a diode in the wire like we do with the DSM's

umiami80: I was wondering if the 05 is wired the same as the 03/04's if not then it couldn't work unless you add the proper wiring.
